Cooks won't be there.  Beckahm won't be there/

Lee will be there.

I have a strong feeling Cooks will be off the board at 18 I think the Raiders will shock the world by taking him that high.

How about Jason Verrot? Guy looks like a stud and in my opinion is the best cornerback out there.

Bass I'm curious why you think Cooks is no longer a good fit in the NYJ offensive scheme. Mentioned in the podcast.

Cooks will struggle with physical man coverage

@WW85

cause he don't know NOTHING about what you want in a WR....

Cooks is plug and play baby - INSTANT OFFENSE

(kidding Bassett)

Ever hear that elephants are afraid of mice? Well Cooks is a mouse who will torment the bigger and slower elephants on NFL defenses....

Ever watch the cartoon Tom and Jerry?

Cooks is Jerry

@bradysucks  If I'm GM & the board falls normally, I would take Cooks. Of everyone realistic at 18, this kid could be totally spectacular. l'll be OK with a lot of guys & the big dudes like Ebron/ASJ or the CBs are much safer picks. But Cooks can be just spectacular.

@bradysucks ok, you totally lost me. to say that a rookie who hasn't ever set foot on an nfl field is definitely better than a player who has been productive in the NFL is an epic failure of logic.

@Bent @bradysucks  Pretty sure that this is one of those circumstance where you are both right. If we don't get better QB play, it doesn't matter who we have as WRs....and if we don't have WRs that opposing DCs have to *gameplan for, then our offense will still struggle.

*gameplan for = scare the crap out of CBs and S

I hope Cooks is available and picked, but their is no guarantee he is better the what we got ...but I think he may be.

@bradysucks  God, you just can't help yourself. You're basically Joeyboy with better grammar when you get into this mode.

I am not sure even Megatron or Fitzgerald would have had 1,000 yards with the Jets QB last year. It would be interesting to see what a Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rodgers would do with a Kerley or Hill. I really feel bad for Hill. He got drafted into the worst situation.

@Bent

Logic is fallible, Bradysucks analysis is NOT!

Kerley and Nelson are not as good as Cooks, Evans, Beckham or Lee...etc

I think you are the one who has fallen "in love."

It is universally acknowledged by everybody other than the most die hard Jets fans that the NY Jets have been weak at WR the past 2 years

To deny this is ridiculous. Nelson didn't even start the 2013 season on an NFL roster. He will never be a game changing NFL receiver and hopefully we draft well enough do that he is a back up.

Kerley is not all that......I like the guy but you keep making excuses why he hasn't had a 1000 yard season. When he has one (if he has one) we can talk about him being a legitimate #2 WR.

I used to think it was just the QB holding back the receivers....then I realized that there is a symbiotic relationship between QB and WR....and the receivers have not been very good on the Jets the past 2 years....The talent hasn't been there

@bradysucks  The passing offense has been terrible because the QBs have been terrible.  If they have the 31st best offense that doesn't mean the WRs are the 31st best in the league, especially since they've upgraded by adding two.

And, yes, I think they should add another to develop into a future starter, but to assume that guy will automatically outproduce a quality player like Kerely or even Nelson who once caught 60 passes, is incredibly naive.

But if the QB (whoever it is) doesn't play better than we've seen over the last few years, I hate to break it to you but the offense will still suck and you'll probably be back here in 12 months begging for more firepower.

@bradysucks  Kerley nearly had 1000 yards in 2012 with Mark Sanchez at QB.  In 2013, the team had a much better record with him in the lineup and he missed about a month with an arm injury otherwise would have ended up with similar numbers.

You are saying I fall in love with rookies?

Would you suggest I fall in love with the receivers on one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL two years in a row?? No thanks...

The car is broken and the engine needs some NEW parts

Kerley's production this past year was terrible for a team's top WR

Feel free to list his stats as he was the most productive receiver on the team

I like Kerley but I don't think he'll make it through an entire season healthy and he clearly isn't elite....He's a good player...and the Jets need to add another WR better than Kerley to compliment Decker...

Hopefully they draft Cooks who will take Kerley's job and a guy like Moncrief to play on the outside instead of Hill

Competition...

@bradysucks

Yeah, I hate offensive players.  That's why I was defending Jeremy Kerley against your laughable assertion that he was "terrible".

You fall in love with these rookies and fail to realize they might never be better than the guys we already have who you underrate.

Contrary to your warped belief I actually like it when Jets players do well.  I'm not sure where on earth you got the idea that wasn't the case.

Whoever we get I'll be excited to root for them.  Like I said, I don't care who we pick.

On Jet Nation they said Cooks had a "Filthy" pro day. That he caught everything and dazzled with his cuts. That solidified him as a top 25 pick.

I am sure when Cooks ran a 4.2 40 yard dash Morninweg was disgusted.

I am sure Morninweg watched those blazing wheels, those lightning quick cuts, and those great hands and said to himself...."thank God I have Stephen Hill instead!!!"

(Rolls eyes)

@bradysucks  How do you know he didn't come away from that workout unimpressed?

Well Morninweg thinks that way. He personally worked out Cooks at his pro day

I really hope Idzik thanks that way, I suspect not. But I'm hopeful.

Cooks is impossible to cover in the slot

If he lines up on the outside rumor has it he can be Steve Smith 2.0

He would give defenders fits and he is a bigger mismatch than Eric Ebron for a defense. Corners can't cover him and neither can LB's or safeties
