How can you think Rex and Idzik hate each other and all of the emotion they have publicly shown (http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/videos/Jets_Locker_Room_Exclusive_Rex_Retained_as_Coach/ac9d869a-d78d-410a-b819-055f06ccf75c) be an act, but then turn around and say that Idzik is bad at lying every time he denies the baseless rumors? You keep asking how all these rumors can be floating around when all of the evidence points to them being false, and you're conclusion is all of the evidence is a lie and people acting, and that the Rumor must be the one that's true.

Here's the recap of the 2013 podcasts....with expert analysis from Giants fan Corey Griffin...

1) Mark Sanchez shreds defenses

2) Rex Ryan should be fired because Mark Sanchez got injured in

a pre-season game playing behind an o-line almost as bad as

Sanchez is as a QB

3) The Jets will be lucky if they win 3 games in 2013 but if Sanchez

starts instead of Geno they might win 5 games

Thank you for your expert analysis going into the 2013 season

I am sure you will be just as accurate and astute going into the 2014 season.

Maybe next year the Giants will make you proud :)

Nice job on the podcast this year Bassett. Corey makes you look good.

We love you both

@BenNevis I agree with this, although in all fairness I must say that I only read the first three or four of corey's articles. These were so bad I couldn't stand to read any more of them.

Bent—

I don't often agree with bradysucks, and I often agree with you, but on this point, you're way off, my friend.

Corey's posts this season were an embarrassment to this blog, and should have been an embarrassment to Corey.

His ridiculous assertions week after week after week made him appear as knowledgeable about the game as Cimini or Mehta or Florio or Myers.

And as I said in a post to you several months back, Corey was in danger of losing all credibility as a journalist. And to many readers of this blog, he not only did lose all credibility, he became something of a joke, a very tedious and predictable and inane joke.

You and Bassett have worked tirelessly to turn this blog into the very opposite of what Cimini and Mehta and Florio and Myers and the other media idiots represent.

Unfortunately, Corey's posts here have made the same kind of vapid, boring, supposely provocative noise that those media idiots make. And many readers here don't come to this blog for that—for the kind of crap we can get almost anywhere else.

We come here for the kind of thoughtful, carefully reasoned analysis that you do, Bent, and for insightful opinions that are backed up with fact, fact and stats and examples that demonstrate a convincing knowledge of the game.

Corey actually wasn't right....He was wrong on just about everything.

Every last one of us knew Geno would struggle as just about all rookie QB's do. Now it's true that Geno was beyond hideous at times this season which was at times surprising. What bothered me and what bothered so many readers of the blog  was that Corey' s solution at QB was "Mark Sanchez." Just about all of us wanted to see the Jets give Geno a 16 game audition so that Idzik and the team could EVALUATE him. We already knew that Sanchez was terrible.

Now it's unfortunate that the Jets blog's new format driven by SNY prohibits giving a thumbs down. The prior format allowed this and Corey's pre-season articles were among the most  unpopular articles in this blog's history.  His opinions were voted down in huge numbers by the same readers that drive the jets blog.

Now if I come across as mean spirited - I'll apologize. But the readers of this blog are the best judge of what really happened - not just you and me.

@bradysucks Corey suggested that Sanchez "KNOWS HOW TO pick apart defenses", acknowledging WITHIN THE NEXT SENTENCE that he had FAILED TO DO SO over the previous two seasons and that Geno Smith was perhaps NOT READY to be an immediate starter right off the bat.  While he ended the season on a high, Corey's stance that Smith might not be ready was proven correct by his dismal performances over most of the first three months.

It was a bold stance, but it was actually proven to be pretty accurate and I think you owe him an apology for overreacting to one comment within an article that you didn't even bother to put into the context of the rest of the article due to your hatred of Mark Sanchez.
