The only problem is Rexy can NOT build an offense !!!

Hopefully we can trade back for to 20 with the Cardinals for a 4th rounder and get Cooks.  Then trade back up to the bottom of the 1st for ASJ.  If we do this we will be in great shape, imo.

My dream is trading up for Khalil Mack.  I know it is not popular but he is just a great football player and I think he would give us a chance to go to the Super-bowl.

We could still get a quality WR or TE in the second (my trade up involves trading our 1st, 3rd, Tampa 4th and next year's 2nd if Mack falls out of the top 6).

Hope it starts with the O line.

@Alfonso Duarte  Hey Fonzie finally got his own account.

Question: Could Mangini build an offense?

Was he ever given the chance before? Tanny picked his OCs and controlled the personnel. MM was Rex's choice and it looks like Idzik is building out the office to fit MM's system.

@harvlis  Yup, all will be for naught if the oline is not sound. I think we have learned as Jet fans over the years, what a neglected oline can do to an offense. Hopefully Idzik was taking notes.

Idzik DID address OL last season, with 3 draft picks, a premium UDFA signing (Dalton Freeman, one of the top center prospects in last year's draft, but went undrafted) and Ijalana. Campbell, Aboushi and Ijalana were all on the active roster the entire season and Winters started most of the season.

Obviously, the Jets have a lot invested in these guys and it's just pure speculation to believe that any OL that the Jets could draft would be ahead of any of those guys.

Plus, with the draft coming up, it's highly likely that the Jets will add even more OLs to the mix. Plus, with the remaining cap space, the Jets could poach a vet cut during training camp.

I thought your new mantra was "In Idzik we trust"? OL is much stronger as a group than you think.

@jake100 @harvlis  The key is not just fielding 5 starters, but building depth. We can't take for granted that Brick and Mangold can make it through 16 games without injury at their age. We've been lucky until now but, I fear, that luck will run out.

Note: Giacomini is on there, but was never available.  He had extended with the Seahawks before the free agency period was open.

Also on there was Heyer who the Jets DID sign.

@SackDance99  Joey has a history of criticizing the Jets for "neglecting" the offensive line.  Who can forget his list of potential right tackle replacements for Wayne Hunter, literally NONE of whom would have been an upgrade because all of them were (a) worse (b) not prepared to play right tackle (c) not even available or (d) a terrible scheme fit or (e) a combination of these.

And yet they still didn't "neglect" the position because they brought in Ray Willis and Stephon Heyer and Jeff Otah and Jason Smith (all of whom had started multiple games at the NFL level) and spent 2nd and 7th round picks on Ducasse and Schlauderaff.

Just like how they "neglected" the receiver position despite bringing in Nelson, Cribbs, J. Hill, Massoquoi, Obamanu, Edwards, Salas and more over the last year or so, all of whom had again been productive players in recent times (and they did of course also spend a high draft pick on S. Hill).
