Buzz: Eagles Out of Running for Revis

While over the last week there were reports that the Eagles were interested in acquiring Darrelle Revis and that Howie Roseman was sharpening his pencil to try and come up with a possible deal, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports this morning that the Eagles are out of any ongoing talks with the Jets.

The Eagles made overtures to the Jets about trading for cornerback Darrelle Revis, according to league sources, but they took themselves out of the running for one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Indications were that Revis was headed to Tampa Bay for several draft picks.

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

McLane tweeted last night that he thought it was an eventuality that Revis would go to the Bucs, and from his angle it sounds as if whatever he’s hearing is that the compensation was too high for the Eagles’ blood.  I like hearing the phrase “several draft picks” in relation to potential compensation for Revis, but we’ll have to see what rounds those picks actually come in should the Jets finalize their deal with the Bucs.

i always  find it interesting that millionaire pro ball players don't mind taking advantage of union representation to help them get even wealthier but most like eli throw their support behind the gop who are dismantling the union movement throughout america and destroying the middle class as we know it, they love the fans as long as they stay in their pay grade and don't bother the wealthy class they now belong to because of their athletic ability.

informative post although most can't see the forest for the trees on this site.

@Paul Cole

You do realize there are less than 18 million union worker in the USA.  and not all Union workers are in the middle class. but if they where, and there is ruffly 200 million in the middle class. then  9% of the middle class are union workers. 91% of the Middle Class are NON Union by choice !!! GOD Bless AMERICA ...

@Paul Cole Government, Unions, and big business are all corrupt. Your post although I don't agree is well thought out. John's post is from a 6 year old, but I think he just needs to come up with material and did not give his comments much (any) thought.

the Absolute's " ALL " makes your statement FALSE & VOID.

Government = People

Unions = People

Big Business = People

NOT " ALL " people are corrupt.

Government DOESN'T make money, it TAKES money threw TAX's = FORCED payment.

Unions DON'T make money, it TAKES money threw DUE's = FORCED payment.

Big Business, MAKES money, or it's OUT of Business.

Mr. F-

Why would you even write about ELI's political affiliation ?  Poor & lame judgment on your part.  ELI lives & works in a "BLUE" state, with a " RED " governor, and is free to spend his money any way he wants, He is an AMERICAN.  the Condescending ELITISM tone's you write with are very sad.  perhaps you should post about EVERY NYG's political affiliation.  Or you could just DELETE this post.  Your Editor should have told you to re-write, and keep it sports.  Clearly your lowest post.

That stuff on Eli is simple-minded garbage. Assuming he supports a republican simply because he's from a red state is ignorant. Maybe Eli is well read and supports smaller government? Maybe the Manning family was raised with strong traditional values? Maybe they aren't happy with the current state of Obama's America and believe Hillary would be more of the same. The way you worded that blog made him look like a mindless southerner and it's pretty insulting to half the country.
