Buzz: Rob Ryan Won’t Be Coming to New York

Last night the Cowboys dismissal of Rob Ryan caused a stir and a lot of speculation since the Jets haven’t yet named a replacement to Mike Pettine as the team’s 2013 Defensive Coordinator.

All signs point to Thurman and for everything that’s said about the Ryan brothers, they know that working together is not the best thing for their respective careers.

Added to that, Jay Glazer would know whether this would happen or not because he’s friends with Rex Ryan and has a history of breaking stories regarding Rex.

John - What percentage of the cap was\is JPP taking up? That might be a good article for the whole team.

JPP might not be what he was before the injuries' but in my eyes he's still our best DE, losing him simple makes us worse. If we keep JPP obviously it has to be for the right percentage, if we are to gain another standout player on the defensive line then that would surely improve his numbers.

JPP getting to free agency is a plus for the Giants and him. It allows him to explore other teams and contracts while letting the Giants explore who is available at the same price of signing JPP. There may be better options at that price and I believe it behooves the Giants. I for one am not sure JPP is the best choice to re-sign.

Hmmm….let's balance out the Knicks/Giants crossover comments today.  I'm coming here to post about Amare's desire for a buyout: if the dude who cost the Knicks $100 million wants to get on a playoff team, he should figure out a way for his agent to convince a playoff team to actually offer the Knicks something of value.  Or sit his butt on the bench and count his money as we tank the rest of this season.

@mrgee  I think the Knicks would be just as interested in a buyout as Amare, if not more so apparently at this point. If he's going to think about accepting a buyout over the All Star break then obvious right now the Knicks want the buyout while he's unsure. Amare is just an empty roster spot for them at this point as he has no future with the team and struggles to even get on the court. If they clear him out that would open up space for another 10 day contract guy to evaluate which has worked out well for them thus far.

@Brian Webster @mrgee I guess so, but I just don't want them to catch lightening in a bottle with another 10-day guy and, gasp, win any more games.  The race for worst record is a close one.
