While names like Tom Gamble, Tom Heckert, Marc Ross and others have been batted around for the Jets GM search a new name came up last night. John Dorsey, the Green Bay Packers Director of Football Operations, is now another potential candidate the Jets have set up an interview with this weekend per Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports.

Dorsey is an interesting candidate. Last year he turned down the chance to interview with the Colts, has played football professionally and has a long history with the Packers dating back to his playing days. The Packers are of course one of the league’s most stable and successful franchises and has that is the skillset that the Jets seemed determined to come away with in their search. During his time with Green Bay, Dorsey would have gained an extensive background and experience in personnel and building through the draft as opposed to trades/free agency.
