Without reading the TJB headline, I saw the Dolan thing and thought, "OK, someone in the media said something dumb, and The Jet Press is reporting on it. Makes sense. I can picture someone in the media saying that." and continued on with my day. It wasn't until I read the TJB headline until I realized that it was a joke.

How bad is the media that an obvious April Fools joke sounds like "just another offseason Tuesday?"

The Jets will be able to get a good WR in round one. Round two they can get a RB that would be better than getting Chris Johnson. If Carlos Hyde is there in round two I wouldn't 't mind if the Jets picked him.

I just came to terms that getting DeSean Jackson and his baggage is not the best idea. Let Oakland  East(Redskins) sign him. The WRs in this draft are the best in 20 years. It's not the gang stuff, it's the "me" stuff. Now rumor has it Woody is to sell. If James Dolan buys...not sure what will happen? Drove the Knicks into the ground. Prevented the Jets from building in N.Y. Screw him!

@Brian_Bassett not gonna happen... Too much we can do with so many picks. We will build for years down the road.

Anyone have any thoughts on Danieal Manning?  Seems like he could be an upgrade if he returns to form.

If my sources inside the building are correct, then expect a bombshell at 2pm.

Does anyone want Chris Johnson?  I don't get it. Seems totally average?

Can we get some news saying that we've signed Jones or Patterson already!? Would be nice to see something happening for a change.

Garda is predicting Jets trade up for Watkins or Evans. Hmmmmm.

Andrew LaForge

If the Jets traded up to get Evans or Watkins, that would be awesome! The Jets do have a bunch of picks this year, so it is possible. I wonder if Idzik would pull a trade up. He seems to value his picks...

You guys got me good with the James Dolan thing...nice!!!

Dont get me wrong "dawgs" I know adding journeyman for depth is a big plus, but aside from Deck man, will the Jets add another FA that is at least a solid proven vet starter?  Adding plug in journeyman is good, and I like it, but it also takes some GOOD players at deficient areas to get the team to the next level and also maximizes the draft. Come on Johnny Z find those coupons, lol

You continue to post I assume for your own enjoyment.  It is adding nothing to the blog.

@omw1

I think he would have been a good signing last year before we signed Landry.  But with what we have at safety now I don't see much of a need.

@Ceifus Hornswoggle

James Dolan buys the Jets and immediately trades all of our draft picks this year, skips next year.  and trades our first rounder in 2016.   He doesn't realize yet in the NFL he can trade next years first rounder.

@a57se  You know something we don't?

@WW85 I wouldn't mind him. He would fit in perfectly as the Goodson role. Would make the potential jailbird expendable too. Morningweig needs a McCoy-like rb too. Talk about thunder and lightning via Ivory/Johnson.

@Andrew LaForge  I'm in favor of trading up for Evans. 1+3? Watkins would be too many picks I think.

@Andrew LaForge doubt it idziks gonna build thru the draft..losing picks imo is not the way 2 go

@jake100  Does the starting right tackle for the Super Bowl champions count as a solid, proven starter?

"... will the Jets add another FA that is at least a solid proven vet starter?"

Dimitri Patterson could be described as (a) solid (b) proven (c) a veteran and (d) a starter.

I know you love your small sample sizes.

If you define a solid proven vet starter as someone like Decker, then your answer is going to be no, because there essentially aren't any left that don't have age or injury concerns.

@juunit @kniff  Thanks, but no thanks juunit... we're leaning towards the dancers Jenni and Suzie for our next party. They have promised to arrive in their flight crew outfits...

Andrew LaForge

@WW85 @Andrew LaForgeAgreed. Evans seems like the more likely trade up. He will probably be in the bottom top 10 or around there. Watkins would be too much of a jump up.

Monty

Dont you think this is a failure on his part? Weve not upgraded. Weve improved the recieving core slightly and downgraded the corners slightly.

For all those people the say its only march..

"Because there essentially aren't any left that dont have injury concerns"

Thats why some people are upset. He didn't upgrade the team and free agency ...good free agency is finished people. Theyve been selling you this secondary market bull and you've been eatingvir up. Theres no seconday market theres just the scrap heap.

if he had gotten a decent corner he could have traded up for watkins. Hes hot too many holes to fill and improvments to hopefully make.

I need not say another word. I shall never sully your poor virgin eyes with negetive words for idzik again. idzik makes his case for termination every day. I wont type another word ever

@a57se

I don't see the comparison, but I guess you feel this a good point.

Many of my points and responses have started long discussions on the blog.

I don't see how this one could other than with you, trying to play DA (devil's advocate).  But please don't push it too far.  Thanks

Just asked him to explain where this adds to a real discussion.

@a57se

Mehta has not broken a story or had a really good lead in a while.  He beats the same drum on issues to drive hits for his stories.

Idzik is getting us good value and has upgraded the WR position, ensured we have a solid O-line if Winters can continue to improve and at least be a Slauson level player (when Slauson was a 1st year starter and 2nd year player).

I just don't see where it adds value on a Jets site.

Just curious where any value comes from this post.

@williamg1 @boomer @jake100  Yep.  The Raiders, much like the Redskins, love to overpay for other teams players.  Not much you can do about it unless you want to become the Raiders or the Redskins.

Vincent Winner
Vincent Winner

@Monty  Walls is an acceptable starter.  He's not going to be anyone's dream choice, but he can get the job done.  Therefore there is no need to panic and overpay for a starting level CB - we can wait till a good value, whether that's the draft, trade, or free agency to upgrade.
