1st time i've heard that jets QB smith is better than the cream of the 2014 QB draft.
with all the hype, i thought it was the other way around

According to Tonty Pauline, - At last count at least 17 quarterback coaches polled at the combine rank Derek Carr over Johnny Manziel.

 I thought that was worth sharing......

Anyone see what the Panthers did?

They signed Graham Gano to a 4 year, $12.4 Million Dollar Deal!!!

Fork Folk!!!

Find another kicker!

I like Carr. I won't be surprised if he is the best QB of this class

@a57se  I can't wait for Hank's take on this. Should be rich.

@a57se  Yeah, that's the $3 million that kickers now make. The market has shifted.

Miller as always is good. I agree with Martavis Bryant, his #4 guy on the move up. Big, very fast, moves fluidly. Overshadowed by Watkins and Hopkins. Would like him in round 3-4. Seems he might go higher.

That mock draft sucks.  If we did that we should be relegated like in European soccer.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!

I am talking about the drafttek one, not yours.

a57se
a57se

Draftek has an online simulation where you input codes for each position to weight the draft selections then the simulator runs and makes all the picks.....I got the following from a simulation just now:

Round 1 Marqise Lee WR

Round 2 Kyle Van Noy OLB

Round 3 Bishop Sankey RB

Round 3 Chris Borland ILB

Round 4 Donte Moncrief WR

Round 5 Joe Don Duncan FB/HB/TE

Round 6 Ricardo Allen CB

Round 7 Caraun Reed DT

The Reed pick was a massive Value pick according to the simulator though i didn't allocate any need for DT......

Still, I wouldn't be upset with this draft at all.

@Bytor @a57se

Oh, I can hear it now.....the league is forcing this on Incognito as the only way he can ever play again or some such nonsense!

@Brendan @a57se

Who decided to shift the Market? What possible leverage could the kickers have had?

a57se
a57se

@Ryan Grote

Doesn't Bryant sound like a slower version of Stephen Hill?

Hill 6'4" 216 lbs. 4.36 40...

Bryant 6'4" 204 lbs. 4.43 40.....

@Marcus Armstrong @a57se

Which one?

That is HIGH Praise coming from you!

a57se

@harold

Yeah, the first two picks aren't terrible but after that it is just silly....Roy Tingley (never heard of him) is the guy who puts in the Jets needs......I don't like his priorities.

harold

Van Noy did not look as fluid as I expected.  I think he may be a late 2nd round or early third round pick now.

@a57se  I'd be really pumped with this outcome! We'd argue individual players till the cows come home, but conceptually this looks great to me. Add that to Tate/Decker, Shields and Asomoah and this team rocks.

@a57se @Disgruntled Jets Fan

Imagine a DIRT BAG, HYPOCRITE, DISGRACE of A PERSON possibly destroyed your career and future and the only souce of income your WHOLE family has because of something that......

""It's overblown, because this has been my experience with the league my entire career from Day One," Denney said in a telephone interview. "If something needed to be done, it needed to be done a long time ago. It has never escalated. I never saw conditions worsen. I guess we're late in getting to the issue.

"I would be comfortable in saying if you put an investigation on any of the 32 teams in the NFL, you're going to come out with the exact same results." - John Denny NFLPA Union Representative

Marcus Armstrong
Marcus Armstrong

@a57se @Marcus Armstrong  Either, actually. Not fond of Ka'Deem Carey, but yeah, other than that it was fine, and while I'm not big on Lee at 18, I'd love to come away with KVN, so I'll take it.

@harold

So the end of March......that is when the schedules come out as well, i think.

At least the preseason schedules.

The league meetings are where the comp picks are finalized.

a57se
a57se

@harold

When do we find out about comp picks......mocks will be MUCH more FUN when we have all our picks included!

harold
harold

I know he is fragile but a comp pick in the 5th is for that players with less than ideal measurables or medical issues.

a57se
a57se

@harold

He has good tape but he gets hurt a lot too....Matt Miller talks about him in the article i posted. miller is always a good read to me...don't always agree with him but the guy is sharp.

harold
harold

Maybe even a 5th round comp pick after his 4.26 combine.  Plus to be fair he has good tape.  But his upside may be a slightly better Mel Gray on offense and you can only hope that good on specials.

a57se
a57se

@harold

Hahaha....I know! I almost keeled over when I saw that!!!

I'd take a flyer with a 6th round comp pick....

harold
harold

Dri Archer in the 3rd round is just ridiculous.

harold
harold

Lawrence seems like he could be a player.

See you later have to run out.

a57se
a57se

@harold

I hope we get a shot at Demarcus Lawrence...... he impresses me!

My alternative would be Jackson Jeffcoat.

harold
harold

I watched his tape he is a little slow off the edge to me.  He can be good in with our D-line, but I would not take him before our 80th pick (2nd 3rd rounder) in round 3.

@harold  Waddya think of Attaochu?

harold

I like Jones from FSU as a developmental guy.  I talk to you guys later

harold
harold

I don't think so either, but a man can dream can't he?

a57se
a57se

@harold

I don't think that is happening this season.......

harold
harold

Yeah, but I really think with teams that love underneath offense in our division we need to upgrade the MLB position.

The Pats, Dolphins and Bills all run underneath schemes.  So we need to shore that up to really dominate our division.

a57se
a57se

@harold

With the two I mentioned we could win the division on defense alone.

harold
harold

Add in Tate and Daryl Smith (as long as we are dreaming) at 5 million for punts and solid #2/3 WR and draft well and we could win the division if my hunch on Geno is right.

a57se

@harold

Orakpo and Shields or Davis would send me into a state of Euphoria!

harold
harold

It is possible.  We will know in less than 2 weeks.  I expect us to sign 2 quality F/A in the first 72 hours of F/A.

a57se
a57se

@harold

I'm OK with that....you get what you pay for. i think Davis could do a really nice job pressing guys at the line and disrupting routes....Add that to the Jets defense and watch the sack numbers soar!

harold
harold

They would but he will probably be a top 4 guy salary wise at the position this year that would probably mean 8.5 to 9.5 APY.

Not sure we would go that high with him.  Although I agree he could be a good fit.

a57se
a57se

@harold

Davis is a very talented guy. I could see him flourishing in a Rex defense and he has the size you want today.....Him, Milliner and Wilson would be a pretty good starting CB core.

harold
harold

Colts have cap space as well and he played well for them.  Not sure he is a realistic option either, but like Shields we could blow his doors off.  I just think he and DRC (Cromartie) are more inconsistent than the other top CB.  So I am less inclined to sign them.

Although Davis had a great year in 2013.

a57se
a57se

@harold

Yeah, I was thinking maybe Vontae Davis?

Bytor
Bytor

@a57se @Bytor  Great, thanks for putting in the time. I don't agree with all the players either, but conceptually it ticks all my boxes.

harold
harold

I love Shields but he is looking much less likely unless we blow his doors off.  Because the Packers have a lot of cap room as well, especially with the increased cap.

I thought he might get away before because they had less room and maybe he might slip through the cracks.

We may have to look at 2nd tier guys like Tarell Brown (I think he is underrated), Captain Munnerlyn, and Walter Thurmond.

Or even bring back Cro and pray he returns to his 2012 form and realizes at his age he must play bump and run to compensate for his declining change of direction and speed.

a57se
a57se

@Bytor @a57se

That's the big thing with the simulator....you can shape the draft to your concept of team needs....for me, I want two WR's, a potential feature RB, a good OLB candidate, ILB eventual replacement for Harris, at least one depth CB, and a TE who can block and move......Joe Don Duncan wouldn't be my first choice but he does bring some interesting versatility to the table.

They have a feature where you can exclude certain players from consideration and target certain guys as well but I haven't gotten that to work yet......it is a fun diversion now and then!
