Last 3 drafts by Reese have  been dismal overall. Fewell is horrible and this team resembles a losing team; which they are. Wrote an article yesterday suggesting that the Giants should consider trading Cruz (if he fully recovers of course) for another 1st round pick (Top 5). Clearing as much as possible (Rolle, JPP, Jenkins, Kiwanuka and maybe Cruz) the Giants could go in a different direction. Selecting Amari Cooper and an OL or a pass rushing DE with their 2 1st round picks (if they successful trading Cruz) is a good start.

The end of part/ whole of this regime is definitely coming to an end. With that said,I'm extremely proud of our 2 SB' in the last 10 years.Being a Knicks and Mets fan,I think I would have lost my sanity if it weren't for our Giants. In the end,I guess we could point the finger at every person in the organization, but as I said,I'm proud of our 2 SB and the head coach who led the way through and to them.I think TC should be honored for what he's accomplished here, and not thrown under the bus for what he wasn't able to do.

These last two seasons are ALL on Reese an his dismal overall draft record the last 5 years.

I hope he's let go.  Unfortuneatly its rare that a new GM comes in a keeps the coach.  Hopefully TC goes out in a deservedly dignified way.

They then need to draft some beef for the OL.  Then some run stopper LB's.  Just for starters.

Can Eli hold in to the ball?? Hit him and he goes down like a sack of potatoes and loses the ball.

Even the most optimistic Giants fan knows that it's time to move on from the current regime.

McAdoo is the only one that should survive the offseason cuts, as I feel he needs more than a season with an injury-riddled O-line that wasn't all that talented when they were 100% healthy.

Other than that, major changes need to be made on the Giants sidelines.

Only thing remotely redeemable about this game is that at this point they are so bad they are much better off just losing out & climbing up the draft board to better facilitate a total tear down & rebuild which is also more likely to happen if they continue losing. Last year's strong finish after the 0-6 start was probably the worst thing that could've happened to them cause it kept the status quo outside of Gilbride and moved them down to the middle of the draft every round.

Mr.F--

ELI had a 70% Completion Rate....

----------

Like i said 2 YEAR's AGO,

it was EZ to see REESE's,

Shallow ROSTER,

the real HORROR SHOW,

is the DAMAGE,

REESE has done to the SAL-Cap....

Guarantee'd Cash was Back-Ended....

Leveraged Forward.....

----------

ELI only has 3-4 years Left....

It would Take 2 Complete Drafts.

and 5-6 Solid FA's....

to FIX REESE's,

SYSTEMIC DAMAGE.....

........there would be Little room for ERROR...

....... a DARK DECADE...is apon us

My advise is to just keep losing. The only thing to gain is draft stock and zero wins is what every fan should be looking for moving forward because we will need that talent in the rebuild.

First you take the top OT then in the second you take the next top OT and you move forward from there.

Perry Fewell is the worst coordinator in the league

The injury bug is what really did this team in. They're a shell of the team that could be on the field. This has happened for two seasons now. Maybe they need new strength and conditioning coaches also.

I hope this sparks some major steps in the off-season to change the leadership direction of this team. My head will explode if Mara keeps the status quo in place for the sake of patience and continuity. Missing the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years is not worth keeping the status quo.

Reese, Fewell, and Coughlin need to go. Hopefully that means the LB and Special Teams coaches will also be changing as well.

My question is who do the Maras bring in as GM and Coach? Can't be anyone internal (coordinators, position coaches, etc.)...Not sure who can clean up this mess!

Wow we really played our hearts out today what a great team effort?  We suck through and through and our entire coaching staff needs to go.  How we won two Super Bowls with TC is beyond me I think of it as Devine intervention x two.  But his time with the team has come and gone.  This season we will have a top 5 pick and good choices and FA need to be gotten. This is so trying for any Giants the last 10 years.  The ups and down are like they have never been before.  It is sicking to watch these games week after week you begin to dislike the club.

Michael Frias

@Michael Stewart  If the Giants draft Amari Cooperin the 1st round instead of an OLineman, I think my head will explode.

And you're lucky to get a 5th rounder for Cruz, let alone a Top 5 pick.

I honestly think the Giants are set at the skill positions, even DB is Prince DRC and Thurmond all come back healthy.  They need better players at OLine and DLine, and, as usual, Linebacker.

steveg
steveg

@Michael Stewart Yes.. good idea.. trade Cruz when his value couldn't be lower.. you'd be lucky to get a top 5 round pick, let alone top 5 overall.. there is no need to completely break up the team.. FIX THE O LINE, you're a .500 team at worst.. don't have your best CB, MLB, and best WR out for the year to go with your top RB out for 4 games, and your are contending for a playoff spot.. it's really that simple.. The OL didn't give this team a chance and having the most guys on IR in the NFL put the nail in the coffin!

@Skookaloop easy Skoop if the Gmen get one top shelf player on the O line and D line, they can probably turn their fortunes around.

I know I've seen enough of Fewell and perhaps it's time to kick TC upstairs.

Reese, is a tough call.

I could see Harbaugh coming in and coaching for the better part of the next decade

Michael Frias
Michael Frias

@jaymanjay  At this point, we all want them to have as high a draft pick as possible, but there's no way you tell the players to "lose on purpose".

Now, there's ways to help the process along, like giving the younger, more inexperienced guys the most playing time.  But to flat out tell the players to lose, it'll never happen.  A lot lot of those guys are playing for next year's contract.

Bernie Liebler

@Wayne Pavia You're right on.  That whole crew needs to go, along with Fewell and Quinn, both of whom should have been gone already.

@Metsfan62 Don't even start on Williams....one- He is a rookie    two-give him the Dallas or Denver Offensive line    then see what he does...

This kid still picks a couple of yards with John Jello Jerry John Boy Walton and Brewer in there. He will be fine

How about cleaning waste products like Robinson, Randle, Kiwi, JPP, Every linebacker except Kennard and Williams...and start thinking about taking Mannings 31 million off the cap.

@rickp get a grip.  as a mets and knicks fan you don't know what suck is.

The mets haven't won a championship since 1986  (28 years ago)

The knicks haven't won in 45 years.

The Giants have 4 rings since 86…and the last two not long ago.

Crap happens and the best laid plans go south.

No need to get angry.

No OL, no DL= no Wins. Vince Lombardi couldn't have rallied this discombobulated patchwork group of standins

By the way most cities, franchises would LOVE 2 superbowl wins in a decade? And two of the great superbowl wins ever

Michael Stewart
Michael Stewart

@Michael Frias @Michael Stewart The jets got the 13th overall pick (1st rd) and another pick from TB for Revis after he was coming off a serious knee injury. Perhaps acquiring a top 5 is a reach, but acquiring another 1st round pick for Cruz if deemed healthy is possible. If so, the Giant could use their 2 1st round picks in a variety of ways (a WR and an OL) or a OL and a DE) whatever combination they feel best that would help the team. It's just a thought and another option they should consider.

Michael Stewart
Michael Stewart

@steveg @Michael Stewart The Jets were faced with a similar situation with Revis (coming off knee surgery and they got a 1st rd pick (13th) and another pick from TB. So it can be done as long as Cruz is fit and cleared to play by any team interested. At this point, the Giants need to consider all options and trading Cruz is one of them. Obviously, if Cruz can not recover, this option is pointless. If that is the case, then the Giants would still need a bonafide WR to replace him as they would most likely release Cruz if he can't pass a physical. They will have a ton of money available if they are not stupid enough to re-sign some of these over priced players (ie: Rolle/JPP). So to respond to your opening sentence; yes it is a good idea and one option they should consider.

@rico @Skookaloop Look at the list of Free agents for next year and tell me two players will make this team good again.  This team had many holes and it will take a couple of years to fix it hopefully under the direction of a completely new staff.

49ers are reportedly looking to trade Harbaugh in the offseason & I don't see the Giants having any interest in getting involved in giving up draft picks for him & with their lack of talent I definitely agree.

steveg

If you want to start thinking about getting rid of Eli, start thinking about being the Jets for the next 5 years! Ridiculous to think this team would be better without a proven Top 10 QB. To put him behind this debacle of an O Line for 2 years is deplorable!

Jennings runs behind the same OL and the difference when Williams is back there is night & day

Michael Frias

@rico  No amount of losing will ever take away those 2 SB wins.  No one lucks into 2 SB wins.  They earned both of them.

That being said, even the greatest coaching staffs of all time were replaced.
