The Jets dropped a bomb on the Dolphins

The season might not have resulted in a playoff bid, but the Jets finished the season with an 8-8 record playing spoiler to the Miami Dolphins playoff chances.  After the Miami meltdown back in 2011, this win exorcised some franchise demons and created the divergence the fans needed at the ended of the 2011 season.

There’s a lot of good things ahead for this team.

ONE LAST TIME!

I wonder what the Dophins and their fans are doing?

How sad they must be, knocked out by the awful Jets.

:-)

Hey Mike Francesa - last time I checked, the Jets had a better record than the Giants.

“Geno has a better chance of being struck by lightning on the field than of throwing a touchdown pass,” Francesa added. “He has a better chance of winning the lottery tonight than he does of throwing a 30-yard pass crisply, on time, to a wide receiver.”

“They are now just a dreadful, dreadful, unimaginative, awful [offense] just without a weapon, without any explosiveness, without any clue, and it’s painful to see Rex Ryan stand there now and try to tell you … because it’s like he has a total disconnect as head coach from his offense,” Francesa said. “It’s almost like the offense happens to him and he watches it and then tries and struggles to explain what he was watching.”

Francesa said of all the struggles the Jets have had on offense in the past, what happened Sunday set a new standard for ineptitude.

“If you didn’t coach all week, if you picked the players out of a hat and they had never played together before they could have played better than that. If they had never met, if they grabbed the uniforms and positions by lot, they would play better than that,” Francesa said.

Fantastic finish to the season.  3-1 in December.

The best part about this win is that both Geno and Dee finally are looking like they are putting it together

Playing spoiler to a rival.  Shades of '88.

Let's hope next year isn't shades of '89!

Dee played a good game and will continue to improve. Geno on the other hand played a decent game but wasn't really that good in the passing game.

@Bent   You are so heartless and cruel, gloating over knocking the poor hapless lovable Mimi Dolphins out of the playoffs.

:-)

I am so thrilled to knock the fins out, for me this is the highlight of the season.  And I'm not sad that the Steelers and ravens didn't make it.  I'm ok with the Chargers making it.

I am amazed the Jets won 8 games.  I figured them for 5-6.

Now all I ask is - anyone but the Pats.

@Pat d I agree about Geno.

Milliner has played better recently. But he needs to turn his head around when making plays.  He will get pass interference calls not doing that.

@Pat d Come on Geno might not statistically had a great game but he made throws he needed to make, didn't force it, and best of all hes finally scrambling like we said he should have been doing all along

@Kyle Ely@Pat d

I agree with Patd, the Jets limited Geno's exposure in the passing game and played it close to the vest. They leaned on the running game and the defense. Geno played well within that framework

Geno looked good running it and had no int. But his throws often are under or over thrown and others look like a duck flapping in the wind. Improved but far from looking elite.
