Could Stephen Hill play this Monday? It seems unlikely, but Hill told reporters Friday that he has been participating in meetings and was on the field Friday, according to Michael Fensom of the Star-Ledger.
Hill said practice today was “just like a regular day,” only due to the NFL protocol for head injuries, Hill wore a red jersey barring teammates from making contact with him. Hill still needs clearance to play Monday, but says he is ready to participate against the Falcons and has been in meetings with his teammates since Wednesday to prepare.

According to Fensom, Hill also related that when he went to the ground he “remembered blood filling his mouth” after the hit to the chin by Michael Griffin. Hill seemingly wants medical clearance to play in Monday night’s game … something of a homecoming for Hill who grew up in Tucker, GA. The game will come eight days after his concussion and he will likely be listed as questionable today. Ryan said that Hills’s participation in practice had him “encouraged. That was a good sign.” Still, Hill needs to pass the contact clearance to play on Monday night.
If Hill could play, it would be a help for a team with some injuries at the wide receiver position, but rushing back from a hit like that might be unwise too. Unless Ryan rules him out today, expect him to be a game-time decision.
