Audible: Week 15 Early Game Open Thread

week15

Here’s a spot for you to log your reactions to the Week 8 early games that are taking place this afternoon.

Yeesh, what a bunch of stinkers.  Some thoughts we have as a quick look at the early setup today:

  • NE @ MIA — The Patriots are dealing with Life After Gronk and will take on a divisional opponent that even when at their worst can be a bugaboo for the Patriots.  The Jets need the Dolphins to lose this game to stand any postseason chances come Week 17.
  • SEA @ NYG — No one is mistaking the Giants for their playoff contending selves of year’s past, but coming off a tough loss in San Francisco last week, this game will be a litmus test for how good a team Seattle is away from their home field advantage.
  • WSH @ ATL — Talk about the Dirty South.  The only interesting component of this game will be how Kirk Cousins performs in replacement of RG3.  The whole Washington situation is a mess and trying to peel back the layers of the onion won’t be done here.  At the very least, it seems like Washington might be trying to dangle Cousins as tasty trade bait come this offseason.

Leave your thoughts, observations, whatever you like in the comments for the early afternoon games!

Is there a site to watch the Jets game online other than Firstrowsports?

hope Dolphins hold on to beat the Patsies, Pats could get pushed into hosting a WC play off game with no bye or home field advantage if they lose today, and if Cinci keeps winning.

Eli takes the lead in interceptions.

Jets should sign Cutler so he could get paid big money and have no to throw to, and since he is a moody guy he will get peed off by the NY media bothering, it would be a marriage made in heaven.

Wow Reynaud inactive.  Looks like Hakim gets to be the kick returner today.

Cro is active.

Man, Glennon is sooooo good. Such a terrible shame we didn't get him.

Just imagine how much better we'd be if our QB threw for less than 50 yards in a half BUT DID IT WHILE HE WAS 6'6!

@DarrolRayFanClub if we lose today it doesn't matter anyway, realistically.

 we screwed ourselves with the bills and phins losses.

@marcus81 Yeah, you should root for the Pats. Miami losses improve Jet playoff hopes.

@juunit

9 of 16 for 79 yards and a TD with no INT's.....better then Most of Geno's first halves....

@juunitsomehow he would stink if we had him, it's just our luck, and our receiving corp does not help. at least he has Vincent fricking Jackson to pass to.

No. Miami is irrelevant to us if we win out (including beating them). We root for then over the pats because that gives the pats more to play for next week against Baltimore.

@DarrolRayFanClub It's the most likely game for them to lose, and with the Jets expected to lose I don't see anything wrong with saying the Jets need them to lose today.

Brendan

@DarrolRayFanClub Can you explain how the Jets have the tie-breaker in-hand already? That's a legitimate question, I keep hearing it without anyone explaining why.

@a57se

And yet, their offense is no better.

@juunit@a57se@Brendan@marcus81

Geno 20INT's Glennon 7 INT's

Geno 9 TD's and Glennon 16 TD's.....

You are being a moron. I woouldn't have drafted Glennon or Smith, they both suck in my view. Based solely on what they have done in the NFL, Glennon is MUCH BETTER.

@a57se Dude, I just think it's unfair to pull games like that. Either compare their first games, or Geno's complete stats in two games, you can't just pick the worse performance for the argument.

@a57se@juunit@Brendan@marcus81

No, I don't. It's what you think is more accurate because you like Glennon and you don't like Smith so you'll make any argument possible to fit that.

@a57se You're back to blind Geno-hate right now, dude.

@Brendan@a57seSure if Glennon was throwing the ball against the same Bills secondary that Geno got the first game...WHICH YOU KNOW SUCKED!

a57se
a57se

@juunit@a57se@Brendan@marcus81

Oh Stop with the dumbarse arguments.

The Bills of week 11 are a lot closer to the Bills of week 14 then the first time the Jets saw them.

you know as well as I do the comparison I made is more accurate.

Was Justin Rogers playing CB for the Bills the second time the Jets played them or when Glennon played them?

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se Wouldn't it be more fair to compare both of their first games, not Geno's 2nd game when the defense had already played him once and had re-do on their gameplan?

a57se
a57se

@Brendan@a57se

We all know the Jets played them early in the season but the second game vs. the Jets is much morre relevant in comparing Glennons' game. Don't act like you don't know that.

@a57se@juunit@Brendan@marcus81

Why am I not surprised you chose to put up Smith's stats from his second game against the Bills instead of his first?

Because after all, comparing Smith's 2nd appearance against a certain team to Glennon's 1st appearance against that same team is the most accurate way to make a comparison.

Now, let's look at the other team they've both played, the Falcons:

Smith: 16-20, 199, 3 TDs

Glennon: 26-44, 256, 2 TDs, 1 lost fumble

By the way, that's Glennon's first game against the Falcons, just like it was Smiths. Also, Smith won, Glennon lost.

a57se
a57se

@juunit@a57se@Brendan@marcus81

Geno 8 for 23 for 103 yards and 3INT's

vs

Glennon 9 for 25 for 90 yards with 2TD's and 2 INT's

 Plus Glennons team won and the Jets lost.

I'd take Glennons' performance., he wasn't pulled either.

marcus81
marcus81

@Brendan@marcus81there's people on here that said they wanted Glennon, Glennon should have sat and learned for a couple years before starting too.

@Brendan@juunit

Nope, never heard of that movie bu Glennon does remind me of an Ostrich.....just because he is doofy looking doesn't mean he can't play....

@juunit You ever see the movie Accepted? He looks like the guy who tries to blow sh-- up with his mind.
