For those who were concerned about Kenrick Ellis, who reported to the Hampton City Jail last night, missing part of training camp and becoming unfit while he served his 45 day jail sentence, there is no need to worry any longer. The Hampton Circuit Court approved splitting his sentence in half meaning he will be released on July 9, approximately three weeks before players are to report to Cortland.

He is expected to return to Virginia on March 1, 2013 to serve the remainder of his sentence.

The Court also granted Ellis permission to partake in a work release program. If the release is approved by the sheriff, Ellis will be able to work out with his former coaches at Hampton University.
