Chicago, Houston, LA whatever. chudogz1 5pts It's funny how everyone here wants draft picks included in any trade, yet some on here say the draft is a crap shoot...people that obviously don't watch college bball.... Thankfully, they are not the GM... Hopefully Phil already cut the "scouts" we've had because they clearly were not too good at what they did... goldbuddha 5pts My theory. Melo wants to be courted and experience free agency, that can only happen sincerely if the league believes you really may leave. Done.Melo will get wined and dined. Gifted and courted. The Knicks will start making moves to make it look like they're trying to recover from the loss. Teams will start making moves to clear space. All of a sudden there are a lot more role players available on the market. Melo makes his decision. ...he stays. Knicks make moves no one saw coming. 2014-2015 is so much more fun in NY than anyone could imagine. rb3b3 5pts At first thought i was crushed when i heatd the rumors of melo leaving ny. Melo is my favorite player. However after watching the spurs offense in the finals, i dont care if melo leaves. The ball will never move here in ny or any other team melo plays on the same way the ball moves in the spurs offense. Its a thing of beauty and melos strength is iso. Im sick of iso, i want to see the ball move here in ny the same way the ball moves in San Antonio!!!!!! Melo if u leave i wish u the best, but dont cop out saying your heart is here but..... If ur heart was truly here you would be a knick end of story. Lebron and the decision part 2 except melo will not win wherever he hoes unless its to the heat. barnaby87 5pts Moke thinks it will be an 3-4 team S&T that sends picks to the knicks (along with cap filler obviously) darealeric 5pts Update:"Most Knicks fan rejoice..." jax13 5pts Yep this just sux....the waiting game is excruciating. I hope they get something for him if he leaves.Oh yea, n win a chip along the way ;) Ray Jorge 5pts Melo is not going to Houston his good friends with Kobe and there is "NO WAY" Kobe endorses Howard!!! manchu 5pts @Andrew Torres You should care where he goes.. I don't want him anywhere near a bulls uniform. He can go to Houston or LA zebeto 5pts @JesusBlasTheKnickWay i dont get folks animosity against lin ..............when compared to our current Starting PG (felton) , dude looks like tony parker . Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @OLDKNICK Melo has been stating he will opt out for the entire season. Perhaps Phil and the Knicks team think they can resign him. BigChiefTriangle 5pts @OLDKNICK It means none of us should believe anything we're reading right now. Just wait and see until Carmelo makes his decision official. chudogz1 5pts @JesusBlasTheKnickWay. I think he realized he screwed up by making us trade the farm for him and now we will get nothing for him, so wherever he goes still holds assets to get another good player, something that NEVER happened here... Our roster needs a pooper scooper and a doggie bag.. chudogz1 5pts @knega. Daryl Morey knows Dolan is our GM, and he's always desperate! 1harris1 5pts I agree. The Post is reporting tonight that last night's meeting with Melo went well , and that the Knicks brass is confident that they're going to be able to keep him . Everything being said now is really nothing but conjecture at this point. chudogz1 5pts @knega Grunwald is spelled wrong... It's D O L A N chudogz1 5pts @illmatix. Amare is great because he keeps getting injured and coming back, talking the best game ever, and getting the most $$ from us... Melo is no good even tho he tries hard night in and night out, and had the worst starting point guard in the league. Tyson is great because he won DPOY, yet he hasn't learned one, I repeat one real offensive move EVER.... Not to mention we have the 45th ranked head coach in the league, because atleast 13 assistants are better than him, plus 2 water boys that have more bball IQ then WoodRow.... But since Melo plays ISO ball, which is all the coach knows how to coach, as evidenced in ATL, yet he's the real problem...??? Not sure how NY fans got labeled the best and most wise fans, they must have nominated themselves... chudogz1 5pts @goldbuddha. I sincerely hope you are right... Do what LeFlop did and make other players become available, for us... We don't have much to spend is the issue tho Mel Brown 5pts @rb3b3 as i stated earlier. The spurs are successful bc they have they following:1. Best PF of all-time2. All-star PG3. All-star HOF 6th man-manu4. Young star Kawhi.5. HOF coach6. Great front officeWithout those stars in place they don't win. Stop with the illusory thoughts. chudogz1 5pts @darealeric. The young ones that don't realize he's the best we've had since Ewing... #facts jax13 5pts Kobe also would endorse Phil n Dfish. That would mean he is staying right? knickfan2 5pts I've thought about that as well. McGeorge 5pts @manchu @Andrew Torres Let him go to the Bulls. The Knicks are rebuilding and wont be anything for a few years. No draft picks, no good young players, it's going to be a while. By that time Melo will have declined. chudogz1 5pts @knega. We would probably still be watching basketball this year chudogz1 5pts @knega. I'm not saying I don't want the picks... I'm talking about the "knowledgable" fans that say the draft is a crap shoot.... More like Amare was a CRAP shoot!!!! Antonio McDyes was a CRAP shoot... Allan Houston was and still is a CRAP shoot... Eddie Curry was a CRAP shoot.... I'd take the draft picks any day of the week over all of these "proven veterans".... chudogz1 5pts @knega. 3 of the worst contracts in the league in Amare, Chandler (brick hands) and BarnBoy, but no, it's Melos fault.... Not to mention WoodRow a.k.a ISO is alm I know on offense, and switch is all I know on defense!!! goldbuddha 5pts Yeah but luckily we addressed the Coach, Front Office, and culture. The cancerous culture made good moves turn sour really quickly. Hopefully, the Zen Garden can produce some synergy and make the most out of a little until 2015. JerseyFan1 5pts AND they play team ball NOT ISO like Melo & Woody (did not involve other players). BigChiefTriangle 5pts @Mel Brown @rb3b3 Parker - $12M/yrDuncan - $10M/yrGinobili - $7M/yrDiaw - $4M/yrGreen - $3M/yrLeonard - $2M/yrNow that's value. rb3b3 5pts Duncan almost 40 yrs old, manu close to 100 years old, im talking about this year. You dont have to be an ahole. My point is if melo leaves, i wouldnt be as upset as i was originally, as long as we can build towards a great TEAM for years to come! theking 5pts @jax13 hopefully ... Houston would be a disaster and if he goes there I would probably lose all faith in him cuz clearly he is not watching what other teams are doing. now if harden is traded for rondo and green then I can see that possible but its not enough basketballs with harden around chudogz1 5pts @grunwald was trying to get Aldridge and was totally against BarnBoy trade... D O L A N then fired him... Grunwald put together the team the year before... We won 54 games, although we were old... He didn't trade away our future unless you're counting the 2nd rounder for Camby... Not saying he was the best, but D O L A N was calling the shots... He said it himself in Phil Jackson's press conference chudogz1 5pts @illmatix. These fans are not too bright... They will blame Phil and his 13 rings, because Melo left... They will change their screen names to say Melo was the man!!! chudogz1 5pts @goldbuddha. Unfortunately, we still have the doctors that remind me of the Mets doctors... They were/are horrible Mel Brown 5pts @BigChiefTriangle it is value. But those salaries have been modified over the years. Mel Brown 5pts @rb3b3 Not tryin to make you tight. It's so cliche.....everyone wants to be like the spurs and thats all fine. But we need star players that fit into a system and play well within that system. Losing Melo doesn't help us the moment. In a good system, Melo would thrive as well as his teammates. BigChiefTriangle 5pts @pezhao @jax13 When asked specifically about Jackson potentially heading to the Knicks, Bryant was equally blunt.“You know how I feel about Phil,” he said. “I have so much admiration for him and respect and I have a great relationship with him. Personally, it would be hard for me to understand that happening twice. It would be tough. I don’t really get it.”Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/magic-lakers-knicks-hire-phil-jackson-article-1.1719441#ixzz34fQaFtlK jax13 5pts But he will endorse Phil n dfishs ability to build a championship organization. That is what melo says is most important to him. The knicks are still going to offer him more than anyone else. theking 5pts @pezhao @jax13 and wanted to trade him BigChiefTriangle 5pts @chudogz I highly doubt Grunwald had any legitimate shot at landing Aldridge. chudogz1 5pts @Mel Brown I don't think they watched the Olympics a few years back.. That ball was like a hit potato, with Melo on the court... He is great at ISO, but Jim Boeheim never ran ISO at Syracuse when we won a chip... Something Derrick Coleman, Billy Owens, Sherman Douglas and Rony Seikley could not do, all on the same team!!! chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. And it is well known that Aldridge wanted out at the time. That is a fact chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. I didn't say he had a great chance, but his vision was a lot better than Dolans... BarnBoy is trash, they should have given us 2 first rounders just to take him... And it's well known that Grunwald was against that trade... So for that alone, I don't throw him under the bus! chudogz1 5pts @ knega. Grunwald said it himself, look into it... He probably couldn't say much due to MSG restrictions... Dolan must have put some stuff in his contract so Grunwald couldn't air him out! chudogz1 5pts @illmatix. Well said .. Mel Brown 5pts @chudogz wow!! those dudes were my crew. Crazy squad. Not to mention Melo had the highest fg percentage on the last olympics team. BigChiefTriangle 5pts @chudogz I just don't think saying Grunwald "wanted" Aldridge is a good defense. I'm sure the Knicks also wanted Chris Paul and other big names that they never had a chance of landing. We can only judge Grunwald on the moves he did make - these include giving Novak a 4-year, $15M deal, giving up two 2nd-rounders for Camby, and riding with Ray Felton as Knicks' starting PG. The Bargs' trade, whoever orchestrated the deal, was indeed disastrously bad. Still makes me sick thinking about it. chudogz1 5pts @OLDKNICK. Thanks for reinforcing my thoughts...you have been around and saw it all chudogz1 5pts @Mel Brown. That was the team right there!! And Orr the shooter... They forget Melo broke an Olympic scoring record playing with the best players in the world, against the best players in the world... Like 36 in 13 minutes.... Un real chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. I would take Novak at 4 mill per year and keep my first rounder, over BarnBoy and his 2 years at 11 per any time any day any minute... BarnBoy is hurt more often than not... And. If my memory serves me right, Gary Neal had just received a similar contract to Novak, for doing the same exact thing, so that was the going rate! chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. We will never know if he had a chance or not... But we do know we wouldn't have had BarnBoy, and we would still have our 2016 first rounder... Yes, the Camby move wasn't the best, but all sorts of people were stroking Novak's Johnson the season before that, then when he came back down to reality and sucked against the 2 best Defensive teams in the league at the time, Miami and Boston, then it became a horrible signing... BigChiefTriangle 5pts @chudogz Neal got a 2-year, $6M deal from the Bucks. That's reasonable for a backup guard that can shoot. Not 4-years, $15M for a position-less standstill shooter that cannot even perform one other task on a basketball court - incl. moving. chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. Kyle Korver.. 4 yrs, 24 or 26 mill, way way before he broke the 3 pt shooting record... Great shooter, that's it... One trick pony chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. I would still take NoVaCaInE and his bad contract, with my first round pick, over BarnBoy and his triple salary of Novak's... That's my point chudogz1 5pts @BigChiefTriangle. I remember there was a similar player that got similar contract that year... Been off the trees for 2 weeks now, so my memory is shaky... You are right about the Neal contract tho, that was a good one... BigChiefTriangle 5pts @chudogz Korver is excellent at moving off the ball and is a very good team defender. He may get beat off the dribble, but he knows where to funnel his man and shows excellent awareness as help defender: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/1/15/5267058/goran-dragic-amir-johnson-kyle-korver-nba-all-star. I have no idea why you're arguing with me about Bargs. I already stated that trade was disastrous.
