Jets Players Already Discussing Tebow Move

According to TMZ, Jets players are already talking about Tim Tebow and what his presence with the Jets might do to their team.

Sources connected to the Jets tell TMZ … a bunch of players were working out in the gym at the Jets training facility when the news broke that Tebow had been traded.

We’re told several players got into a pretty heated conversation about the move .. with multiple Jets complaining he’s “overrated.”

But Tebow DOES have supporters … we’re told multiple players argued that he’s a good guy with real potential … and will be a good backup for Mark Sanchez.

As one player put it, “If nothing else, he will make us a more holy squad.”

Normally I would post-amble this … but in this case … here you go my darling little jackals.

Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers entered Thursday having never lost a game by more than 46 points in franchise history. They can't say that anymore. Only a late Kendall Marshall 3 prevented the added embarrassment of losing by 50-plus

Phil has no front office history, so we have no idea if he'll even do a good job at it.

The most positive thing about him coming to NY is the possibility of Dolan stepping back and stop messing around.
The most negative thing about him coming to NY is the possibility of Melo wanting to stay in NY at a max contract.

Let's all hope for the best.

OT. How about St Johns in the traditional road Blue unis? Blowing a 6 pt lead with 11 seconds left, but still sucking it up to win in double overtime. Rysheed Jordan looks like a real talent at pg. Btw how bad does Trey Burke look.

The top coaches in the NBA today were promoted from assistant jobs and never coached any other NBA team.

i remember watching a Laker practice on tv and i hated PJ at the time but watching that practice turned my hate to respect. he had the team working on FUNDAMENTALS/SKILLS. i believe he's gonna bring a coach in here (if he agrees to come) that has that same philosophy.

The team can't execute what you want them to unless they have mastered the little things---the fundamentals of the game.

Simply common sense which many NBA coaches do not seem to possess.

Let's get this straight. A report from a source said something about something and then everybody went apes*&t about that something only to then find out that the something everybody went nuts about is actually something else.

I personally don't believe that Phil Jackson was offered the head coaching job of the NY Knicks. In fact, I beleieve that the source that leaked any meeting with Jackson did not know the reason for the meeting and simply said to whatever birdie Stephen A Smith or Ian Begeley have working for them that there was a meeting. ESPN is famous for creating stories out of misinformation.

Phil Jackson is not well enough to coach and travel over an 82 game season. He is however well enough to sit in an office across the plaza from MSG to run the basketball operations of an NBA franchise, so I do believe that the Knicks broached him about a front office gig.

Woodson knows his time will come to an end after game 82 or an unlikely first round playoff exit. None of this has anything to do with Phil Jackson meeting with the Knicks so I would appreciate it if dude's like Larry brown keep their opinions to themselves about things they don't know anything about.

Jackson has no history as front office guy. He didn't have the power in Chicago nor in LA and in fact it was the lack of power in Chicago that led him to leave and then the lack of power in LA that led him to retire there. Things are never as they seem, (or reported). Chances are he would relish the chance to actually run a franchise, so I do believe that the Knicks made a serious offer to Jackson about taking the GM reigns, and I think he is seriously considering it. Beyond that I leave the speculation and misinformation to ESPN and their minions.

If all these looming rumors help inject some life into this team and mediocre coach, I say keep 'em coming.

The next 4 games are fundamental.

Obviously with this coach no game is a "winnable" one, but Cleveland, Philly, Boston, and Milwaukee....

If you don't seize upon this chance, because it certainly is the last one and a desperate, a last ditch effort.

If they don't put in the work, it'd be just another example of this team's lack of will and pride.

looking at them videos on youtube when the Knicks were rivals against Bulls, Pacers, Heat makes me wish us young ones get a chance to see what we didn't back in the day. that would be epic. now that was real basketball.

@ Sandro. It's worth a shot... IMO... Once a Knick, always a Knick.... People always talk about Ewing not having a job with us, which I wouldn't mind either, not saying head coach either... Jackson won a championship with us and has been around championship bball for a very long time.... Melo said he would take less $$, Phil gotta hold him to his word....

@Sandro Phil is extremely smart and is a basketball person.  I am praying that he accepts the position, although I'm not expecting it.

Woodson won't be sliding over into Herbs seat. He'll be on another bench as an assistant.

@Kiyan Carter. I've been saying we need to focus on Phoenix... I think they want Chandler and could use him... They have Robin Lopez and Bledsoe, who we could use..... They also have 4 picks, one of which we could use, and they like Shump....

VerySilentJay

@Kiyan Carter

"Demote Woodson"?

Bag that. Get him out of here as soon as possible.

Dude butchered our season. I've never seen a coach regress so much.

Good article on Florida and their 4 senior starters, in SI. Turns out the Harrison twins not only aren't lottery picks, they shouldn't even be 1st picks. I'm sure they'll wind up leaving and some team will take them in the 1st rd.

@ smiggybalz. If ur asking me, first of all, there not "stars".. Secondly, I said Phoenix could use Chandler, so by trading them Chandler, that opens up a lot of cap space.....

Robin Lopez is Portlands starting center. Not on Phoenix

Trying the same thing over and over again is insanity. We need a long term plan to build a winning team, not a quick fix and new personnel every year.

Coaches don't go from assistant to HC, back to assistant. Unless they were interim guys. Woodson has years of HC experience and would never stay on as an assistant even if the Knicks wanted him to.

@Kiyan Carter

All the positives from last year have been shredded by his actions this season.

Everyone's guilty, of course, but as he is the coach, he takes the plaudits and the blames.

Last season he was candidate for COY, now he's at the bottom.

That's the way it goes.

- Not adjusting to his new personnel. If your guards aren't shooting well, why keep chucking 25-30 threes a game? Shows his ignorance.

- Hold his players accountable? BS imo. The team's play throughout the entire season demonstrates that no one was held accountable.

- Defensive coach? Yeah, tell that to the switching and the complete lack of hustle.

- Throwing players under the bus? Unacceptable.

- Stunting the growth or younguns? Not an option

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@Kiyan Carter  Everyone in his staff is just as guilty as he is.

But, given that he has the HC title, it's all on him.

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@Kiyan Carter  So basically keep him around  for what he did last season?

A guy like Thibs would demand nothing but commitment from everyon, so Woodson's not needed.

I'm not fond of the way he has used his rookies. His reputation as a "defensive minded coach" has been completely exposed as a fraud.

His team has questioned him publicly time and time again...

Why would you wanna keep a guy that's been so toxic?

He's lucky to be coaching this far.

chudogz
chudogz

@ VerySikentJay. True that... JVG may want to come back, in part for feeling he abandoned us mid season, which he has stated publicly.... Thibs on the other hand, was wrongfully accused of giving secrets to Frank Isola ,I believe, while both men deny it to this day... I doubt he would come back, and I prefer to keep any draft picks we still have... :). I would love him to be here tho

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@chudogz  That's a clasic exit for most coaches that go through this team.

You never know.

But he isn't happy in Chicago. That much has been reported several times.

chudogz
chudogz

@ VerySilentJay. I doubt Thibs wants to come back, after being showed the Exit door the first time around, by Guitar Shimmy, after being extremely loyal

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@firebaldy @VerySilentJay @Kiyan Carter  Oh no doubt about that one.

Should Jax get the gig expectations must be grounded, he's never had such a role before. No telling what he has in mind.

all of course, in this hypothetical scenario, which, personally, I don't thinnk will happen.

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@Kiyan Carter  Nahh...too much 3 pt chucking and not enough focus on D.

Thibs. Any day of the week.

He makes his players better. Brings the best out of everyone. Grooms rookies very well. Brings fire every night and doesn't tolerate those who don't matchup to his intensity.

Injects passion to teams, adapts his schemes to his players, and is a great tactician.

If anyone's not committed on either end, they sit.

Thibs is an elite coach. I'll take him on top of JVG, SVG, or Jackson.

knickgirl35
knickgirl35

@Kiyan Carter  true. maybe his knees are aching or something. there was a time when he didn't wear anything on his legs now he has them all wrapped up.

knickgirl35
knickgirl35

@Kiyan Carter  shump seems like he's still sulking or something. he probably thinks he's not gonna be here next season.
