In an article for ESPN.com, Mel Kiper listed ten players that are available players on NFL practice squads and among them include linebacker Cody Brown.
Here’s a guy who was a second-round pick, 63rd overall, just last year. He has great measureables at 6-3 and around 250 pounds, but he lost a season with a wrist injury then got cut by Arizona early this year before the Jets grabbed him. I like his chances because I think Rex Ryan could do something with him as a 3-4 OLB. Closing speed is an issue, but if Rex can get to him, fine tune his instincts and let him learn from other guys, you’re still talking about a guy that was a 2nd-round talent pretty recently.
The Jets signed him to their practice squad on September 7th.
