Jets Re-Sign Jason Hill, Cut Antonio Allen

Tuesdays are normally a day where free agents come into the facility and work out for the team. From what we hear, the Jets hosted a number of players, specifically receivers on Tuesday and with that in mind, the Jets brought back WR Jason Hill, but did so at the cost of safety Antonio Allen.
Allen, was the player that the team activated off the practice squad when Eric Smith was injured and the team was down a few players in the secondary. During his quick time with the team, Allen recovered a special teams fumble for the Jets and had a few tackles. While the Jets like Allen, the team might feel more secure in their depth in the secondary with some solid play from Lankster and Trufant and are looking to get a familiar boost to the offense. Hill saw very limited play, but did score a touchdown and two catches and 15 yards on just three targets.
With the team cutting Allen, look for him to be back on the practice squad some time soon, but also consider that there’s still one slot on the roster for the Jets that they still have to fill. Could it be someone off the practice squad? Another player from free agency like Hill? Stay tuned …
