The Braylon Edwards story continues to twist and turn. Now that he’s off the Seahawks injurred reserve officially after getting designated with a minor injury, the Jets are supposedly interested in reacquiring his services according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Even though Edwards criticized New York’s organization last week, multiple league sources said the Jets will consider bringing back their former wide receiver, either by claiming him on waivers or signing him if he clears them.

Well, now that he’s free it makes a lot of sense for the Jets to bring Edwards in. It’s hard to say how productive he will be — the offense is somewhat changed from his days with the team. Even so, he’s got the chemistry with Sanchez already and that will go a long way. Add in that Edwards is an excellent run-blocking receiver and he should be able to jump in quickly and make an impact.
This of course also gives the Jets a fast-track at retaining him next year. Edwards will likely be open to taking a fairly thrifty deal as he struggled to find jobs both this year and last.
