Jetting to Honolulu

Just a quick reminder on which Jets will be playing tonight (7PM ET) in the Pro Bowl. Here’s how they got their invites.
Antonio Cromartie, CB — Cromartie is appearing in his first Pro Bowl since 2007, a year he was a league leader in interceptions and made the All-Pro team. Rex Ryan’s defense is reliant on great play from it’s cornerbacks, and due to Darrelle Revis being sidelined most of the season with a knee injury Antonio Cromarite stepped into the spotlight and played well. While there were a few more ups and downs than Jets fans have come to expect from Revis’s play, Cromartie played commendably notching 35 tackles, 13 passes defensed, three interceptions and a memorable pick six in the season opening Buffalo game.
LaRon Landry, SS — In what might be Landry’s first and only year with the Jets, he filled a physical and intimidating playmaker role that we’ve not seen in the Jets safety corps in a while. While the loss of Revis was a shame for the overall unit, it was his loss that allowed players like Cro and Landry to shine more than had Darrelle played all season. Landry accumulated 99 tackles, 8 passes defensed, 2 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, and a pick-six that came against the September Dolphins game during the course of the season … not to mention a number of punishing hits that Landry laid on opponents. Landry was a welcome change in a secondary that has lacked a dominant presence like he brought to the middle of the defense in a long time, and it was clear that fans appreciated his contributions.
