Last month, Jeremy Kerley suffered a rather grim dislocation of his elbow but according to the wide receiver he’s ready to take the field again this Sunday against the Raiders.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comIt’s the best news the Jets have had in a while. The return of Kerley doesn’t fix everything, but it will certainly have a positive effect.
While the Jets 2013 receivers aren’t going to win any awards, there’s enough blame to spread around for everyone. There’s been inconsistent play at the receiver spot, but the protection issues Winters is causing and Geno’s inability to make proper progressions or look off coverage aren’t helping matters.
Adding a solid slot target like Kerley back into the mix has the potential to do a few things. First, it should give Geno some better hot read options and because of that we might see the quarterback get the ball out of his hand a bit quicker because of it, thereby negating the ugly play of Brian Winters.
