Scouting Report: Taylor is a downhill linebacker, best in using his instincts to make plays around the line of scrimmage. Taylor diagnoses plays well, takes good angles to the ball and is a sound tackler. Taylor needs improvement in playing coverage and projects to be a good tw0-down linebacker in the NFL. Long arms let him stack and shed blockers well and allow him to wrap up tackles nicely. Taylor seems best suited playing inside on running downs in the NFL as well as a special teamer.
Notes: Taylor’s 2011 ended prematurely as he had a foot injury that required surgery. In 2012 he had 76 tackles, 10.5 for loss and 5.5 sacks. In Carson, he had a good week of practice and despite being used in a strongside role that he less familiar with in the Collegiate Bowl. Even so, he adjusted well and picked up his assignments quickly as the week went on. During the game Taylor played well notching an interception while in coverage.
