QB Matt Ryan & RB Michael Turner Return to Practice Today

From one quarterback who’s been injured to another, the word out of Georgia is that both Matt Ryan and Michael Turner were cleared to practice today, and they returned to the field on Thursday.

[Ryan and Turner] are hopeful that they will be able to play against the New York Jets on Sunday.

“Nobody likes to have to sit down, but it’s something that you’re going to have to deal with at different points in your career,” Ryan said.

“You just want to try to get back out there and be productive,” Turner said. “It’s very important to see where I’m at, to see if the soreness will go away and things like that. I need to see if I can really handle, playing and cutting … [i]t’s still not quite 100 percent, but if it feels like that, there would be no question that I will be playing.”

Although the defense is playing well, it would still be nice to not have to see two of last year’s best skill position players at their respective positions on the field, thank you very much. Should Ryan play, it will be fun to watch the Jets play against a guy who the Jets lightly flirted with trying to get at the top of the draft. Of course, the Jets think they got their man this year, but watching these two QBs careers play out will be interesting to see unfold.

I don't think that 9.8 rebounds a game is accurate..

I like this deal and have few issues with it. I would like to see the nets get a second rounder or something. However, dumping two contract for one that expires in another year is not bad. It also clears another roster spot, which means they can trade for yet another player or call up some of their d leaguers.

I like the jordon hill trade if money is no issue I would do it but only if the lakers offer a pick or two that is a lot of money to swallow. Draft picks are the name of the game preferably lower first round.

I'm sure he'd be a good fit, but what boggles my mind is that 8 points and 9 rebounds is worthy of a $8 Million dollar salary in today's NBA.

@jaymanjay Agreed.  Unless Garnett decides to retire after this season, Nets are going to be in Salary Cap hell in 2014-15.

This trade would put them in much better shape for the 2015-16 season though.
