Stephen Hill Had a Sick Performance

Rookie receiver Stephen Hill looked pretty good in his first regular season game scoring two touchdowns on five catches.  As I thought about the rookie and his performance, I couldn’t remember one as memorable since a certain Viking back in 1998.  Rich Cimini wrote that there have been few performances by rookies like Hill had in his fist game, and noted a few other players who had similar stats as Hill put up yesterday for the Jets.

Cimini also wrote that Hill was sick as a dog during the game.

Turns out that the rookie wide receiver, when he wasn’t catching passes and scoring touchdowns, was puking on the bench. Hill apparently played the game with a bit of a bug.

“He got sick a couple of times on the sideline,” Rex Ryan said Monday. “He showed that toughness, which you knew he had.”

Well, if he’s going to have a game like that, then maybe throwing up during the game isn’t such a bad thing.  We’re glad that Hill was able to play through it and prove that he’s a target that teams are going to have to account for, which will only help the overall offense that much more as teams try and play “pick your poison” when it comes to whom to send help in coverage.
