After being released by the Giants in the last week, Ahmad Bradshaw would not close the door on a return to his former team, but also wasn’t opposed to the idea of staying in New York, but with the Jets, according to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger.
… in an interview with NFL Network today, Bradshaw wouldn’t rule out another move that would keep him close to home.
“Whatever, whoever needs me, whoever can use me. Whoever I feel that I can get a better chance of playing and helping which team,” Bradshaw said on NFL Network today. “The New York Jets are a team that I’ve kinda been thinking about, just to stay home, not make a big move from New York. It’s just right across the street from where I am now.”
Bradshaw is also coming off another foot surgery.
According to a person with knowledge of the team’s thinking, the Jets would not rule out bringing in Bradshaw, though it would depend on his price tag.
The Jets have been very fortunate with the RB position over the years in the sense that injuries haven’t been a real concern. Bradshaw wouldn’t be a bad fit for the Jets but the fact that the guy is made of glass is a big concern to me. The Jets would be better off going with a more durable RB. Benson, Felix Jones, and maybe Mendenhall would be better options. Of course they can always draft some RB’s. Would you feel comfortable going into the season lets say with Bradshaw, Powell, and McKnight? You definitely know that Powell and McKnight might start a couple of games or have to come in for replacement.
