With free agency quickly approaching, rumors are beginning to spread like wildfire. The latest comes from Chicago where the Bears are reportedly showing interest in unrestricted free agent Brandon Moore according to ESPN Chicago writer Michael C. Wright.

The Chicago Bears could make a play for Moore in free agency, a source told ESPN Chicago’s Michael C. Wright. The Bears offensive line issues have been well-documented, and Moore was a Pro Bowl selection in 2011. He hasn’t missed a game since 2003.

Moore’s steady presence on the Jets’ offensive line has been one of a few bright spots over the years however, the Jets may very well lose both Moore and Slauson to the free agent market given their salary cap constraints unless both are willing to come back at reasonable rates.

Chicago would be a nice opportunity for Moore though. Their offensive line struggles have been well documented and their collective play has nearly gotten their quarterbacks killed. Despite his age and production decline, Moore would provide a significant short term upgrade for a Bears team in ‘win now’ mode.
