Craig Carton, co-host of the Boomer and Carton radio show, isn’t typically someone you’d expect to break news, but he tweeted the following earlier:
Antonio Garay signed with jets. New nose tackle—

Garay is a guy with experience as a 3-4 nose tackle, where he graded out as one of the league’s best performers as recently as 2010. Last year, injuries limited him to just eight appearances in a backup role. Garay is 33 and was on the Jets practice squad briefly a few years ago, so he has worked with Rex Ryan and his staff.
If this does prove to be legitimate, it follows a trend so far of targeting low cost players who might prove to be good value since they’re coming off an injury.
UPDATE: 6:48pm – This has now been confirmed:
Former Chargers DT Antonio Garay agreed to a one-year deal with NY Jets.—
