The Jets might have shown some interest in Chiefs free agent guard Geoff Schwartz, but it sounds as of they aren’t one of the top two teams in the bidding according to NFL Media’s Mike Silver.
Right now a battle is shaping up between the Giants and Rams for Geoff Schwartz's (non-bargain) services. Will someone else get in?—

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comThe Jets have been rumored to have been interested in Schwartz, but unless they jump back into the bidding it seems like they might be falling behind. Tangentially, the Jets were also tied to Jon Asamoah, the guy that was replaced by Schwartz last year. Word yesterday was that Asamoah was going to wind up in Atlanta. There are other players, but those two are viewed as two of the best.
Pursuit of other players at other positions like receiver, safety and corner might leave the Jets out of the mix on the top few guards in this class, but guards can come cheap. While the impact of an excellent guard is easy to notice, Willie Colon could represent a solid fallback for the Jets and their second year players.
