Buzz: Is Marty Mornhinweg the New OC?

According to Adam Caplan and Manish Mehta, the Jets will name Marty Mornhinweg their offensive coordinator.

Mornhinweg has been with the Eagles since 2003 and has spent the last six seasons as offensive coordinator and assistant Head Coach. He has been a proponent of the West Coast Offense, which would represent a shift in philosophy for the Jets, who had been focused on a “ground and pound” attack over the past few years.

In the late 1990’s Mornhinweg was the offensive coordinator and QB coach for the Packers and 49ers. He was also head coach of the Lions for two seasons where he had a record of 5-27.

While there is some speculation that this could lead to Mike Vick being reunited with Mornhinweg, sources have apparently told the Daily News that this is not something that is likely at the moment.
