The Packers today decided to keep tight end Jermichael Finlay who was rumored to be a potential cap casualty. Apparently, the Jets would have been ready to pounce if he was cut, according to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Finlay was set to earn $8.25m and was ultimately will be paid that amount in full, although it sounds like the Packers converted $3m of it to a bonus to reduce the current year cap hit. The Jets have also been linked with Kellen and Fred Davis, so it seems they could view the tight end spot as a priority.
