Buzz: More tryout players attending mini camp

The Jets official twitter feed has details of some more players being invited to next week’s minicamp on a tryout basis, in addition to Kellen Winslow Jr, which we wrote about earlier:

A 2007 third-round pick, Sims Walker accumulated 106 catches and 14 touchdowns over the course of the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Jaguars and looked to be developing into a decent number two receiver type. However, he only caught 12 passes in 2011 after having some knee issues and was out of the league in 2012.

Douzable has spent time with six different teams since going undrafted in 2008. He was with the Titans last year in preseason, but injured his shoulder and ended up on injured reserve. The 305-pounder had a good season in 2011, where he was a rare bright spot for the struggling Jaguars. He started off the season as a backup defensive tackle, but earned a starting job at defensive end over the last seven games, showcasing his versatility and excelling against the run.

Jackson, signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent and released in May, is a small school tackle with outstanding size. He went to Glenville College.

Finally, local prospect Robinson already tried out with the Jets at their rookie minicamp and made a good impression. SNY’s Rutgers blog has more here and here.
