Buzz: WR Ford and OL Ohrnberger visiting Jets today

USA Today’s Howard Balzer notes that the Jets are bringing in two more players in for a visit:

Manish Mehta of the Daily News has confirmed that they are both at the Jets’ facility today.

Bent, TheJetsBlog.com

The Jets’ interest in Ford was first reported two weeks ago. He’s a diminutive speedster with kick return experience and ties to wide receiver coach Sanjay Lal.

Ohrnberger was a fourth round pick of the Patriots in 2009, but didn’t play much in his first two seasons and then missed all of 2011 with a head injury. He started four games for the Cardinals in 2012, two at right guard and two at center. Last year, he only started one game but did see at least 25 snaps in four others. He has the versatility and experience to be a decent backup option if none of the team’s young additions from last year prove themselves worthy this offseason.

Idzyk is a bit*ch. Stop looking at garbage players who won't see playing time in the next 2 years and pay the talent that this team needs. Jacoby Ford? Really?

So after seeing Ohrnberger's twitter account, I now really hope we sign him. The dude's hilarious.

Tim_McManus: Said a source close to Jackson on Redskins: "Done deal."

Oh well. There's always Jacoby Ford.

I seen Idzyk this weekend in odd lot buying 3 month old Doritos and imperfect socks ....... Free agency is a joke this year..... We're low balling anybody that walks through the doors Decker was a meak attempt to give people a reason to buy a ticket.

OT - But is D-Jax to the Jets dead or is there still a chance?

All these signings would provide solid depth. Ford can give us a boost in the kick return game and ohrnberger is a solid backup guard that can compete with Campbell and Aboushi. Patterson is a physical underrated corner that had 4 picks in 6 games last year. One thing we didn't have last year was depth.

At this rate John Idzik, will be be re-signing Santonio Holmes again at WR?

Im sure his value is now more cap friendly!!

Are we supposed to be panicking with every other teams signings? If we had so much interest in all these players then why aren't we bringing them in for visits? Because the interest is due diligence not actual interest. So please spare us the crybaby remarks that were losing out to other teams when we never really cared.

I don't know who you cats complain more about, Livefyre or the jets beat writers lol.  Come on guys, stop it, lets just concentrate on our Jets and hope we are headed in the right direction! Stop with the belly aching!

@jake100  Although Dolan was rumored to be interested, he's selling the team to Fred Wilpon!

@James M Barry I wouldn't say that about the Decker signing. While you really can't rule out the possibility that his wife pushed hard for NY, the Decker family obviously wanted to be here. A guy like him could have squeezed a few more bucks out of a desperate GM. Regardless, Decker both fit a need and came at a solid price.

@supert  Doesn't sound like the Jets are in the mix, but it's not like there's never been a player who signed with a team that hadn't been linked to him.

@brendan didn't they dine with him recently? And how good is he?

@Indiana Jones  There's always that chance but if we did it would be an after the draft signing.

@johnnyl65  Exactly. Every minor move a team makes, fans on this sight go insane. MJD wasn't winning the Jets a title...

we complain about things that actually suck. You just complain that the Jets might suck.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan @jake100  I want to complain about the derogatory nature of being called "cats".

Cats are the opposite of dogs and bob the dog is a dog so if joey is referring to us as the opposite of bob, that's hurtful because bob is awesome and we should all strive to be like him.

If there was any doubt about the Jets doing the right thing in the DJax scenario, this should put it to rest. If the 'skins thought this was the right thing to do, then I am sure it is not. They are the model on which bad decisions are formulated. They are the original, "if you want to do the right thing, watch what they do and do the opposite. " sticking him with a first year head coach is so very Daniel Snyder. I'm glad we never stepped up to the plate here. Philly dumped him, knowing full well he could go to a division rival, and they didn't care. It tells you everything you need to know.

@supert @Bent don't worry guys, Idzik knows best. He'll sign a stellar player like Ford or Austin!

Wether a team wants to sign DJax is one thing but DJax does have gang affiliation to the 40 neighborhood crips.

supert

@Bent @supert  Other than another CB he is exactly what the Jets need (#1 WR playmaker for the offense).

But, I'm kinda hesitant too with Philly just letting him go.  Very strange.  If the Jets did sign him for $9-10.5M a year it's not like it would break the bank if he didn't work out.  If Vick & MM both give their blessings - I think Idzik should offer him a deal.

@supert @Bent  He's really good, but I have had my reservations from the start.  I think the gang stuff is a load of BS, but he is kind of a diva.

Don't think it's going to happen.

@Hanknaples Hank, you saw the report that stated the team has scheduled a visit with him, right?

@juunit @Brendan@MarvelMaybe it's just me, but I'm very wary of defensive players from OSU.... Now if he were an interior lineman, that would be a different story.

@Brendan @Marvel

He was crazy in 2012. Sucked horribly in 2013. Our public interest in him is nothing new though. Privately met with him at his Pro Day a month ago. Personally, I'd stay away. Even in the 2nd, which is where I figure we're looking at him.
