Jeané Coakley, SNY Jets Reporter:
There are plenty of new faces in the Jets secondary this season, but cornerback Ellis Lankster enters his third season with the Jets and is looking to build on last season. Hes a guy who works hard and always has a smile on his face. Lankster joins me today for Coakley’s Corner.
Jeane Coakley: How’s preseason been?
Ellis Lankster : It’s been great. I have been working hard and just trying to make coach Thurman stop fussing with me. (smiles)
Coakley: Why is he giving you a hard time?
Lankster: He told me that I don’t know how to practice yet. He had been fussing at me because he wants me to learn how to be a pro, which means work hard every day as if it’s a game. So he is always on me if I get beat in practice. He’s been like that with me for the last three years.
Ten questions to get to know Ellis Lankster…
First car you bought?
Lankster: A 2008 Challenger.
Lankster: Fried chicken.
Last book you read?
Funniest guy on the team?
Lankster: Oh man. Jaiquawn Jarrett.
If you weren’t playing football you would be…
Lankster: I would be a high school coach, because it was my high school coach that encouraged me to go to college. I wasn’t going to go, but he made me go and look at me now. (smiles)
If you could be a superhero who would you be?
Lankster: It’s got to be Batman because he has the coolest stuff.
If you could have a super power what would it be?
Lankster: That’s easy: never be hurt.
What is something people don’t know about you?
Lankster: I’m a huge gamer.
What can Jets fans expect from you this season?
Lankster: Everything Ellis Lankster has. Everything. I’m going to play my hardest for them.
