Jeané Coakley, SNY Jets Reporter:
Fullback Tommy Bohanon was the Jets seventh-round pick out of Wake Forest this year. The rookie has been seeing a lot of action on the field with so many injuries to the running backs. He joins me today in Coakley’s Corner.
Jeane Coakley: There’s been a lot of injuries to the running back position – do you feel you can take advantage?
Tommy Bohanon: It’s been a great competition throughout camp, and we have had a lot of different backs that have been trying to go. It’s been a good time to try and get evaluated and get a lot of reps.
Coakley: What’s it like working with Anthony Lynn?
Bohanon: He’s a great coach. He knows so much about offense, and the position, and everything… so he is really someone you can lean on and learn a lot from.
Ten questions to get to know Tommy Bohanon…
What would be your last meal?
Bohanon: Steak and potatoes.
Bohanon: The Blind Side.
If someone was going to play you in a movie who would it be?
Bohanon: I don’t know… Brad Pitt! (laughs)
Who’s your camp roommate?
Bohanon: Dalton Freeman.
Tell me something interesting about Freeman…
Bohanon: We were rivals in college. He played at Clemson, I played at Wake Forest. It’s funny now that we are teammates and we are good friends now.
Who got the best of one another?
Bohanon: Well… they beat us three times out of four, so…
If you weren’t playing football you would…
Bohanon: Be a performance trainer, something in the weight room.
How do you know John Idzik?
Bohanon: Brad, Mr. Idzik’s son, is actually one of my good friends. He played receiver at Wake and he actually was at my draft party and everything, so it was kind of funny.
What can Jet fans expect from you this season?
Bohanon: I’m just going to go out there and play as hard as I can every snap, and try and do the best I can to help this team win games.
