Coples dropped 15 pounds before camp

Quinton Coples dropped 15 pounds before reporting to camp (Cimini, July 20).

He is now playing in the 270-275 pound range.

Coples entered the league as a hand-in-the-dirt defensive end, but made the transition to rush linebacker in 2013. He made 4.5 sacks after coming back from a broken ankle.

Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.com

Coples has slimmed down some and has been training this offseason with some players who are well positioned to give him pointers at his specific role.  We are looking for good things from Coples this year as he gets further removed from his injury.

Coples clearly has been working hard in the offseason and I expect this will translate to success on the field. Q-tip to the rescue!

what scares me about Coples is that he might leave the Jets and become really good somewhere else

#Bengals signed UDFA DT LaKendrick Ross (6-5, 365), according to his agent, Glen Lansky. Was not selected in Supplemental Draft.

Unrelated but is profootballtalk the biggest loser site in the world? Cause they had an article up about Rex saying that Harris is underrated and all the comment replies are "shut up fatty Rex" and "jest suck worst team in the NFL" like praising Harris was this horrible crime

Nothing can be measured in terms of season success until we have a QB in place.  Yes Geno is starting, he's starting until he goofs up too much, the fans call for Vick, and MM decides a change is needed.

So,  I just hope Geno progressed to be the QB in good standing.

@UncleJoesJetFarm I thought the article was balanced and well-written.

Therefore, I will take this as a tacit admission from yourself that your favorite writer is NOT balanced on every other article he's ever written.

The good part about him having two so so years is if he does play well we should be able to resign him relatively cheap

@Kyle Ely It's run by Mike Florio, notorious Jet Hater to the degree that Cimini fantasizes about being him.

And when you talk "lowest level football fan" you are talking about the comments section of PFT.

So, biggest loser site, biggest dumpster fire, whatever you want to call it...yes. It's awful on many levels.

I used Howie Long as a contemporary of Klecko, a DL, and was treated as a rock star while active.  Oh and Klecko was all- pro in two more positions than Long.

@Kyle Ely @levi

If he said David Harris a great leader for our defense and a good football player.  That's fine.

To say David Harris one of the top 100 players in football is just not defensible.  He is likely not even top 250 player.

@Tequila Joe

But Klecko despised Gastineau worse than Long did.
