Looks like Odell Beckham is on pace to play vs. the Jets in two weeks...we get to see what we missed out on!

Coz is really on a tear with the Jets, I wonder what the Jets did to him? He is making Cimini look like a JET lover!

At the very least, this will sharpen up AA's cover skills, and make him a better safety.

Antonio Allen: "It’s tough out there on the island but you’ve got to get it done.” #nyj

So will we call it Antonio Island or Allen Island? I like how Antonio rolls off the tongue.

Man, but what if (a big if) AA ends up being pretty good at CB? I'm allowing myself to get ahead of myself. But whatever. I'm rooting hard for him to be effective. Please don't s/hit on my dreams.

I love AA getting the start.  If he does well he and Milliner may be the future.

I know some of the fans are younger but Marcus Coleman had 2 or 3 really good years here with us after converting from safety.  If Allen can give us that type of play we will be very good with Milliner in the fold once healthy

For someone going to college in a few weeks and without much guaranteed access to cable, any recommendations for ways to watch the games this year on a computer?

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se  He's also talking like he is a Jet, not a Giant.

Not sure what offense he's watching, but "best in the league" and "Giants" shouldn't be uttered in the same paragraph, let alone sentence.

@a57se I wonder if we'll have any CBs left by then.

Bent

@UncleJoesJetFarm Same as the offense, they're using last year grades so guys like Milliner, Allen and Davis who will play a big role are correctly graded as poor.

@williamg1 He's extremely athletic but I dont see how that will be enough to be better than guys like Lankster/ Walls who have been playing the position for years. Call me dreamcrusher.

@Brendan

Pryor vs Ivory in going through the hole? Who wins? Or do they just vaporize each other on contact?

Brendan
Brendan

@J. Smooth You can always go the stream route. Or buy a league pass to stream them from NFL.com.

@Brendan @a57se Even if it's "Against the Giants, every opponent looks like the best in the league" ???

levi

@Bent  I see it was Allen and Lankster at CB again today. So it seems Lankster has moved ahead of Walls?

Athleticism is a great entree' for the position, will he have the skill set and time to master technique?

@williamg1 You remember Station from Bill & Ted? When they run into each other to form super Station?

Well...

@williamg1 I think that's how Snacks was originally created.

I am looking forward to watching Calvin Pryor on Sat. night.  He has got to be amped up for his first NFL game.

Bent

@Brendan @J. Smooth Can you watch games live on the NFL package?  It used to be that you could only watch them after the fact?

levi

@Brendan  What a good site to stream though? some are loaded with viruses and ads.

@a57se @Brendan Because he got injured?

We'd probably have converted him to CB by now.

@levi @Bent

My suspicion is that Lankster was Milliner's backup and Walls was Patterson's backup.

That would explain why he didn't get his chance until Milliner went down.  Maybe they think because of his press coverage skills he would be more suited to being the guy they leave in cover zero situations (which they did with him last year at times in the seldom used dime pass rush package which was the only one he seemed to get any time in).

Last year, Walls was backing up Milliner of course, but then Cro was the "Revis" of the defense.

Thanks for the update - I'm a little out of the loop today.

@Bent

I have the preseason one which you can get live programming.  In England and anywhere other US and Mexico (DirecTV exclusive rights) the NFL Game Pass is live.

Hope that helps.

@levi I believe juunit has a better one, but the one I usually use is firstrowsports [dot] eu

Yep that's what I thought.

It is great, but no use if you want to use it to watch games live.

@J. Smooth  try wiziwig it worked great for me last season.

@Brendan Yes juunit gave me one last year that worked well. I will have to ask him again.

See my ESPN Insider link above.  They do non-site content for them.  I assume there's a defensive one too.

levi
levi

@harold I just think its gonna be hard for him. Hell Gronk got behind him last year and he is not nearly as fast and quick as a WR.

@Bent @a57se

Oh, this is based on their roster rankings which we all pretty much disagreed with!

Brendan
Brendan

@levi AA runs about a 4.6. It makes him a much better fit for covering TE's. If he's facing bigger WR's and not shifty slot-types, he could use that skillset similarly.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @Bent I believe so.  Don't have Insider.

I didn't disagree with much of what they were saying but I understand the viewpoint that ignoring growth potential is misleading.

levi
levi

@Brendan  I agree I like him on TE's but some of these people seem to have unrealistic expectations of him shutting down the likes of AJ Green or whatever WR is on his side. I will be shocked if he lines up on the outside and actually plays significant snaps there.

a57se
a57se

@Bent @a57se

They have not completely ignored growth potential otherwise they'd pretty much rank teams where they were last year.

Bent

@a57se @Bent Well, players have moved from team to team, retired etc.
