Did I miss the BGA Extra this week?

I read the article on Richardson at Jets Twit and at the bottom, lo and behold, is discus, ready for me to comment with my discus avatar and username. Never thought I'd say this, but I miss discus.

Not being notified when someone responds to my comments is terrible (s&cks) and I'm not too thrilled with the 10 character limit on usernames either.

Thanks SNY - like Andrew said, truly a better blogging experience!

Had a dream we traded Wilkerson. Pretty much a nightmare. Wilkshake forever and ever

This is going to be Geno's greatest test to date.  Panthers will be tough to run against.  Their pass rush will harass Geno on every drop back.  He's going to have to step up his game to win this one, with everything on the line.  How he answers on Sunday will give us all a clear look into his future.

Have a comment that's been pending for a while now. No cursing in there - just random?

Greetings from frigid Vermont!  It's a good thing that there is no redraft because Shelly was the best pick in this year's (last year's?) draft just like the man says.  Next year, when Milliner flashes consistency, we'll realize we had an excellent first round.  Okay, out into the world!...  Cheers.

Centralizing replay reviews would be a good move. That's the way the NHL does it and I've always thought their replay review system was way better than the NFL's.

@jetfuel I'm no fan of Rich by any stretch, but one thing he said that is the biggest sticking point is they haven't won 2 games in a row all year, and now we are expecting them to win 4(starting last week through week 17). If we win Sunday, then we can start to get excited. The MNF game will be huge as well.

What is a "major rater"? Are there "minor raters"? How about "middle of the road raters"? How does one become a "major rater"?

Too many questions, not enough time!

@me It's up now.  Sorry for the delay.

@nycpeinger Notifications is one of the main things they're hoping to add.  Fingers crossed.

I agree with all except the part about a clearer look into his future. Good Ds often make great QBs look bad. If Geno looks bad (likely in my book) it doesn't mean he won't be much better later, just that he's still as raw as he's looked most of the season.

That's not an endorsement of Geno, a pitch not to draft a QB or any kind of vote of confidence in him. I just think he is what he is - a raw, rookie, project QB with lots of upside that he may or may not ever reach - and I don't know that him looking lousy against a very top level D has much bearing on how he'll turn out in the long run.

I think the hometown fans should get a vote!

Even better, LET THE VIEWERS DECIDE!!!

@me

My question is when a rater reaches the level of "master", what do they call them?

@marshrandy @nycpeinger Ok, figured it out. livefyre doesn't like the words s&cks. When I changed it to 'stinks' it accepted it. That word was in my other pending post as well.

So the bad news is, livefyre is even more prudish than discus.

Good news - Bent doesn't hate me as much as you think.

@jetfuel @Brendan I assume it means that they all happen in the league office as opposed to the officials on the field (under the hood) doing it

ok, sorry to be so dumb, but how do I get to 'my account' through SNY?

 I don't see anything like that (I generally have no probs navigating this kind of stuff).

I see my name , if I click on it, I only have the log out option. No 'my account' link that I can find

@me

well, if I can I haven't figured out how. I login thru sny (refuse to do so through fb or twitter) and they don't seem to provide a profile at he moment. My options are limited to:

log out

am I missing something?

You can't go to your profile and change your user name?

@Bent @nycpeinger

is this supposed to in some way pacify me?? :-p

BTW, I've tried to shorten my name to just NYCPE but there is no option to log in as a different user (I'd use a different email address). If I logout, then click login again it automatically logs me in as the penguin.

I will say with all this wingeing that I'm happy they were able to provide an alternative to just fb & twitter

What the heck is a New York City parking expert doing in Germany in the first place?

@nycpeinger @Bent I like your current name anyway, although I just mispronounce it as "NYC Penguin".

Bent
Bent

@nycpeinger @Bent Yeah, longer names and avatars for SNY accounts are also on the list.  Wordpress kinda blindsided SNY with the rollout apparently, so they hadn't got round to getting everything lined up in advance.

@nycpeinger FYI - I don't actually have any moderator rights at the moment.  It must be automatic filters.

I am sure you are correct but it would be the first step towards interactive sports! That has to be the ultimate goal, right?

@marshrandy @me If you've ever read a sportsnation poll and looked at the geographical breakdowns, I think you'll find that probably isn't the case.

@me I wouldn't complain since the NY population is the biggest in the country and we'd win 100% of our challenges

Hahaha! It would inspire more people to tune in and watch the games! Just think of the ratings explosion and the increase in revenue from advertising! They'd be able to raise the cap!

Why not, they could see it in real time just as easily as the guys on the field and relay their decision in seconds.

And what the heck are 'pending replay reviews after the game' ?

That's a new one on me
