“I will play wherever they say play,” Dozier said. “I’ve been working during the offseason at tackle, guard or center. I want to do whatever I can to see the field as soon as possible.” '

Uh-oh. Another selfish rookie only caring about himself!

I don't know why, but I get so excited at the thought of a good O-lineman.  The games are won in the trenches and this league is a QB/offense first league.  Hence a great o-line can be a recipe for success.  Hopefully Doozier can push or replace winters.  What a Doozy that would be (sorry).

@Brendan The calendar says May but my brain says "Let's play some football NOW!"

Since the NFL is always talking about ways to increase revenue, when will they get around to suggesting something like a 4-game spring season? I know there's all sorts of concerns about protecting the players, but what about protecting me from going through football withdrawal?!

I just hope people are careful at the first full-go practice where the Dooz and the Dozer face off and the impact of their first collision causes a vortex that sucks the entire media into it before getting plugged by Cimini's mom jeans.

@r_in_ct @Brendan  I like your idea, maybe like an NFL peewee league season, Teams around the NFL can play their practice squad players against other teams, I much rather see that then arena football..lol, This would create more revenue for the NFL, and it would give coaches and scouts more time to see what these players got. Commissioner if your'e listening and go with this idea, help me out with some dough, I'm broke, lol j/k.

@Brendan  Didn't Leon describe Kotite as a "Dooz and Dozer" guy when he hired him?

@Bent @r_in_ct@BrendanI think it's a great idea, and certainly understand holding some very high value draftees back, but helping teams evaluate better, and perhaps giving us die hards something substantive to watch or at least talk about...

And to agree with another point just mentioned, the pre-draft hype, coupled with a two week delay, was almost like torture!

@Bent @r_in_ct @Brendan  It'd be a lot of UDFA's and draft picks to fill out 32 rosters  even if the roster were reduced because of there only being 4 games, and the idea being the players played to show off their skills, meaning squad players would be less important.

Another option would be to pair off AFC and NFC teams to form a 15 team league.  The problem there being if the two teams were trying out a kicker, punter QB or other position where only one player gets on the field each game.

Interesting though

@Bent I love the overall premise. You'd probably have to push the draft earlier to give the teams more time to practice, which would be an added bonus and cut down on the useless pre-draft hype machine, just don't try to turn them into prepreseason games to turn a profit. Let local sports channels televise them, but let them be played at team facilities instead of stadiums. Make it feel like a high school scrimmage or something, people eat the stuff right up.
