Namath just hit Sauer 35 yards downfield with a bad thumb. damn I loved those guys. And sauer and maynard were getting mugged all the way down field. people don't reaize how todays passing game has been dumbed down in fa

vor of the offense.

Watching SBIII on NFL channel, this has to happen again soon. I,m 64 and can't wait much longer.  But damn when it happened it was great.

Doesnt Fonzie usually have some deep thoughts to share with us every Sunday?

I'd be really interested to hear how Cumby and Sudfeld were fairing in OTAs...perhaps there is some previously undervalued system understanding brain power there, or just a good old fashioned vast improvement!!

I now some of you will sink your fangs into me for this, but I think Pryor is starting to overdue it a little. He is unproven at the NFL level and could be motivating opposing offenses big time with his mouth. Nothing wrong with complete confidence, but it has its limits like everything else and can backfire, just ask Rex!

Morning Gangrels! The Forecast from Uncle Joe's Jet farm, is for a beautiful day , but for a lot of hung over and depressed Ranger fans. Also, a good day for Cotto fans. Whatever you do today, knock it out of the freaken park Gangrels!

@maynard

I tuned in and watched the fourth quarter....Jets doing Ground and Pound with Snell and Boozer.

Rex was loving it!

@levi It all depends on if Hank takes his meds. If he forgets, we get stuck with his "Fonzie" personality.

@jake100 I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully Idzik tells him to be confident but keep his mouth closed.  I really think we are building a solid team right now and it would be nice if we could fly under the radar. Apparently we have the 23rd worst roster in the NFL according to some, which i feel is not accurate.

I dont want any added pressure on this team and in years past i feel like certain people talking have added pressure to certain games.

@jake100 joey..i think you just upset that Pryor said he hates the Giants too....them giants your second favorite team so i see why you are offended by Pryor.....but to the rest of us that only Jets fans..we love it...lets roll

@jake100 awwwwwww JOey.....pryor talks too much for you.....big deal...its OTAs...who cares....this team  stopped talking the last 3 seasons and we see how that worked out......lets go back to being brash....even if it turns off the whiny fans like yourself

@jake100 I didn't hear any trash talk in the interview. He didn't knock anyone, he simply said the team hates the Pats, Giants, and Brady. And he did it with a smile. His interview should be a non-issue.

@jake100 The only people who think Pryor's comments are a big deal are NFL fans who want them to be. Opposing NFL players will not care what a rookie said in June.

@D @jake100

If the players can't handle the pressure, then maybe we have the wrong players....that said, I prefer things a little quieter as well.

@Brendan @jake100 the fact that Pryor also said he hates the Giants was music to my ears......hate the AFC East and the giants...perfect...except for fans like Joey who root for giants and Jets.....he might be turned off

@Hanknaples Pryor is a natural trash talker and has been long before Rex got him.

Thats a good line by Tyson but I hope Vick uses the "Roadhouse" line and tells Brady "I use to #%&* guys like you in prison."

Brendan

@Hanknaples The Rangers are 0-2 in a series that they haven't trailed for 1 second in. They're not out of it.

UncleJoesJetFarm

@Hanknaples @jake100 Morning Hankster! I could not have summed it up better. The Kings have too much talent around the net and are too big. The Rangers are putting up a fight and I hope they win a couple, which I think they will, but you can clearly see the difference in that very top level of play. Dagnabbit!!!!!!

Brendan
Brendan

@Hanknaples He also said Revis was the best corner in the game before that was a commonly held opinion. He also said Wilkerson was "special" and hand-picked your boy Harrison.

Oh, and speaking of first round rookies who talk a lot....Sheldon Richardson, nice to meet you.

@Hanknaples No I didnt go to the Belmont Hank. I went musky fishing all day (fishing not catching)and got burnt to a crisp on the boat. I did go to a local pub and watch the race though. I didnt think California Chrome was gonna do it but I kinda wanted him to.

As far as Pryors hitting goes he will certainly notice the difference in size and speed of the guys in the NFL but that doesnt mean he cant still be an aggressive hitter. He will get the worse end of some of the hits at this level but thats expected, it happens to the best of them. "Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you."

  I know Rex tends to go overboard throwing praise on players but Im fine with that and it really seems to be mostly in the first year after that I see more and more of Rex calling guys out to step up their game such as Milliner this year and Kerley last year.

a57se
a57se

@Hanknaples

I actually agree with most of what you said Hank......we'll see about Pryor. Until then he should probably keep his mouth shut but that does not seem likely to happen as the kid seems to like the spotlight.

Rex also declared Vlad was gonna be the starter when he was drafted, would gush about John Conner and has generally hyped almost everyone the Jets have ever picked up. It wears thin after 5 years.....

Brendan
Brendan

@levi And since Pryor hits receivers like Tyson threw a hook, I think the analogy is backwards. Pryor is going to be testing the chin of people on the field, rookie or not.

@Brendan  Im rooting for the Rangers but I got to know Willie Mitchell a little when he attended Clarkson University where I worked for a couple years so its nice to see him doing well. The guy has won a Stanley Cup and a gold medal with Canada thats a pretty good career right there. So that helps to take the sting of the Rangers losing away.

levi
levi

@Brendan  I know he will be an enforcer out there but I also hope he goes for the ball instead of the big hit all the time. We seriously need to generate some turnovers.

@Hanknaples When Hank isn't complaining about bullies, he's demanding we bring in Richie Incognito.

@Hanknaples

I could NOT watch that third period last night. I could see the way the Rangers were playing in their own end that they were going to give up the game.......it reminded me of Herm Edwards and the prevent defense, you knew the other team would score as soon as they started backing off.

@a57se Muskellunge is the actual name. Its a large fresh water fish like a Northern Pike but bigger. They call them the fish of 1000 casts but normally I have much better luck than that because I live in an area where there are a lot of them. I didnt catch any yesterday but I have caught quite a few over 40 inches in the past. Its probably my favorite fish to target because of its size and power they jump out of the water and put up one heck of a fight.

@Hanknaples

They said the same thing about the Triple Crown before Secretariat Hank.......then came Seattle Slew and Affirmed. It'll happen sooner or later, genetics....

Brendan
Brendan

@levi When he was drafted, his tape showed that he's not just a Brandon Merriweather out there, trying to the big hit no matter what.

He has a very good understanding of how to time his hits, he never leaps, he always leads with a shoulder. He is exactly what you want in a big hitter, someone with the ability and know-how, but someone who isn't reckless about it.

He has the reputation, so that's the worry for me. I can see him getting a lot of penalties that are technically clean hits, but hopefully the team works with him on that. Problem is, they can't really simulate these situations in practice without Pryor killing some of his teammates, so game situations are the only true reps he'll get at this. Thankfully, he's already very polished in this regard.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se You clearly didn't watch it if you think the entire period was spent in the Rangers' end. That was a very even period, and with about 5 minutes left they actually had an equal number of scoring chances.

@a57se  Mostly bass fishing down your way huh?

@levi @a57se

I fished a little when I was a kid (mainly Blowfish off the docks in Bay Shore) but I am not really into it.....I burn too easy to sit in a boat all day on the water!
