Bring back Reed. Do it without hesitation. He will make the entire secondary better regardless of the snaps he gets.

I'd bring back Reed as long as the plan would still be to have Allen and Pryor as the base starters.

Not a coincidence that Milliner started performing when playing with Reed.  A great "on field" coach and mentor to all of the young players.  Plus, if the last month is any indication, Reed can still produce.  Sign him!!!!

I would like to bring back Reed. If it wouldn't cost too much, who would be a better mentor for our young backfield. And, he was coming on, at the end of last season.

PFT just posted their #20 team and it isn't the Jets. I guess it is possible they have the Jets as a top-20 team this year.

Nice article on Ed Reed. He's been one of my favorite players for years but I didnt know he had all those records. He needs one more pick in the playoffs so he can break the tie.

I worry if Jets bring Reed back he will take play time away from the younger guys. I'd love him on the team as a mentor but I cant see Rex keeping him on the bench much.

Cro got bumped up to the number one 2007 PFF spot ahead of Asante Samuel. (albeit as a Charger)

"Despite several seasons plagued with poor play and general incompetence, the New York Jets hold the second highest average price in the AFC East. "

Dumbest sentence I've read all week.

@harvlis I like Reed but i'd rather have the young guys taking all the reps at safety

@UncleJoesJetFarm stop it you never know whos one piece away or not. People love to make believe they know what will happen. No one called either of the Giants superbowl...People make it to the superbowl and surprise all of the time.

Sorry you have no crystal ball.. you have no idea...none of us do. The jets could make the superboiwl or they could go 5 and 11 thats the nature of parity.Did you think they could make the superbowl in 2009 2010 and 1998 .. probably not.. but they were one really good player away from doing so.

The only truth is that you dont know .. Im not saying they should add andre johnson..he makes a ton of money ...but if you can get a probowl player somehow you have to investigate it and let the chips fall where they may..

"we all know they are not one player away" hahah you dont know that..non of us do..almost every year there is a mild surprise at who makes the super bowl.

Your conceding the year before training camp begins ...its pathetic.. all teams have an equal shot..then start the year and see what happens..Dont give up so soon :)

@UncleJoesJetFarm I don't know what I would have done without this emotional rescue.

Bringing back Reed is a no brainer - especially now that he has something to prove...

Even if he takes some playing time away from other players he is always good for a bunch of interceptions. What the young guys learn from Reed is invaluable....

You're overly concerned with Reed taking away playing time from younger players which is silly. Rex is as dumb as they come on offense but he definitely knows how to rotate and substitute his guys on defense and manage that squad....To assume Rex won't know how to do what is best for the defense is absurd and naive.....You know better

Unless Bob McNair changes his "Over my dead body" stance on Andre Johnson, Andre Johnson is going nowhere, dude.  You can't sign someone (or trade for someone) who is not on the market.

@bradysucks I got my mind on my O line, and my O line on my mind!!

Lets maybe spend some $$ on our O line and improve our chances of winning even more...

@Bent The fact is the Jets are the 2nd best AFCE team since Woody bought the team and even moreso since Rex took over. It's not even close, actually.

@Bent

Yup.

The fact that our ticket prices are second-lowest in the division should be seen as a bargain.  Given our market vs. those of Boston/Miami/Buffalo, we should always be #1.

Ticket prices are primarily a function of market size and affluence (i.e. supply and demand), not quality of product.

@bradysucks I think you better get a cup of coffee in ya before you post again because I dont appreciate the insults this early in the morning.

Whats a "no brainer" for you doesnt mean it is for anyone else. Its your opinion not fact.

I know Rex knows defense and his players and he has also shown he has a hard time sitting his older players that he loves.

Levi: Here's an interesting and compelling thought piece that might cause you to look at a complicated issue in a new way.

Joey: No thanks, I prefer to remain stuck in my closed and un-nuanced worldview.  Ignorance is bliss.
