That "report" on Hill is such BS.   None of the players are working out with the team now, there are no team activities so obviously this is re-hashing some crap from a few months ago.

In fact this same stupid "report" surfaced back in February from an "anonymous source."

I love when pissant bloggers bring up old news and re-blog it as if it were current.

Cimini really like to hear himself type... His career is both astonishing and amazing

Hill isn't as bad as the media makes him out to be he is consistanly behind the defense and to my knowledge didn't drop to many balls this year. He's only 22 and the jets knew he was a project when drafting him. yes his numbers were low but all our recievers numbers were low. Hopefully Geno takes strides this year; and is able to hit hill with a more acturate deep ball. I can see Hill beating out any reciever we draft this year

Would anybody else like Clition-Dix if hes still there at 18 alot being said about our corners but a rangy ball hawking  saftey makes life for those corners alot easier

Saw this on the Football Educator. it pretty much sums up all the bloviating the football insiders are SURE some player or players a  team is going after at the draft:

Someone on Twitter recently called this the “lying season” and with good reason.  Those that are saying they know what clubs are thinking and the direction they’ll take come May 8th are lying.  They can guestimate and speculate all they want, but they won’t hear it from those in the know.  Maybe from a “media insider” or “leveraging agent” but last I checked they don’t turn in the card.  Seriously, too much is on the line and too much has been put into the process to leak or reveal any true intentions with just a few weeks prior to “The Texans are on the clock.”  Ask yourself WHY any club would do that? "

Aldon Smith certainly has issues.

18 has to be BPA whoever it is. WR is so deep that we don't need to go out of our way once the top 2 are gone.

Davante Adams should be there for us in rd2 & his numbers were crazy at Fresno, he was basically unstoppable.

"Has a rangy build with good body length and secure hands to palm the ball and make difficult one-handed grabs. Tracks and adjusts to the ball very well down field. Extends outside his frame and plucks the ball out of the air. Natural hands-catcher. Terrific athlete with good leaping ability and anticipation to properly time jumps and highpoint the ball. Wins jump balls in the red zone and shows very good hand-eye coordination to take the ball away from defenders. Exceptional production. Has a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump"

A Crabtree type....Yea im not to stressed about not going WR in Rd1 lol.

we need weapons at the Wr & TE in the first few rounds, sign Chris Johnson & let's go to war.

ODB/Cooks or bust IMO they both make the offense and Geno better which should be the goal

Maybe I'm giving Sports Glory undeserved credit for being a legitimate news outlet, but I love how their article claims that Hill doesn't work hard or take things seriously. Not trying to defend him at all (I still think he may not make it out of camp) , but where is there any evidence for their charges?

Dennard would be worth it, Roby wouldn't be. Two arrests are a complete red flag... Cimini's mock shows that Ebron, Beckham, Cooks, and Amaro are still available... any of those picks make make much more sense for us right now in our current position.

Read the Steeler artical you don't spend high draft picks on WR's. I would be shocked if the Jets spent there #1 on a WR. I'm cool w/what we did in FA, but this draft will be very telling. I also agree w/Bent ( on an earlier post ) Idzik & Mr.T are the same animal.

Maybe the 49ers cut/trade Aldon Smith and we can sign him with some of that leftover cap room/trade some of those 12 picks we have for him.

Of course they won't actually let a premier player like Smith go, but it sure would make hell for opposing teams. Coples and Smith bookending Richardson, Harrison, and Wilkerson? That's just painful.

Bradley Roby overview

2013: Played in 12 games, started 11, but was suspended for first game of season due to ARREST. Was also ejected from Iowa game for "targeting." 2012: Second-team All-American selection and first-team All-Big Ten pick. Semifinalist for the Thorpe Award (given to nation's top defensive back). Started in all 12 games. 2011: Started in all 13 games and tied for the team lead with three interceptions. 2010: Redshirted. Misc.: ARRESTED on July 21, 2013 and charged with misdemeanor battery after striking a bouncer during a bar fight in Bloomington, Ind. Charge later lowered to disorderly conduc

So the Jets pass on Lee, Beckham, or Cooks for this guy? Thanks Cimini.........Thing is Cimini might be right.....I don't get why the Jets don't make helping their young QB a major priority.......I really don't.

Weapons.....Jets need WEAPONS on offense.

@a57se I bet that even Joffrey wouldn't spoil shows for people like you do. Jerk.

@a57se  Thanks for ruining it for everyone else round the world who doesn't get to see it until tonight.

@a57se  This reminds me of Ryan Nassib (Syracuse/ NY Giants) as the next big thing  last year as the player being hyped before the draft. Ho-hum....just another example pf pre-draft jockeying.

@Hoz  Any chance they are holding off on Johnson until Goodsen's case is decided?

@joemustgo I believe the article said "per source".... I pray we don't have a new leak!

Waning patience on Hill however, isn't a far stretch if you are a frequent participant here on TJB...

@kniff   Teddy B was still available too.  I really wonder where he goes.  His stock is falling.

bradysucks

Why would the Jets want Aldon Smith who is at the moment a total and complete mess mentally when they passed on signing a guy like Jared Allen who has his act together? Makes no sense...

Jets won't be interested even if Smith is available. Doesn't seem like Idzik to pay an unstable player a lot of money.....

Brian Serviss

@bradysucks  no the Jets don't need WEAPONS on offense necessarily. You are so fascinated with thinking that pass offense rules in the NFL but quickly forget who the Super Bowl Champions were last year. I team that had a mediocre at best passing game and won games through their defense and running game

boomer

@bradysucks  Can't speak to the arrests but I saw the Ohio State - Iowa game and that targeting call was one of the worst calls I've seen in a while.

We have met with Roby a lot. IMO we'd take a long look at him in the 2nd. Last year he looked like the best CB around, so in the 2nd we'd probably see him as a steal. I'd pass altogether so I hope the interest in him is a smokescreen.

@a57se  I've read the books, so I could ruin how this season will most likely end, but I won't. It would annoy the hell out of me if you had just ruined today's episode for me......

@joemustgo @Hoz  I think they are holding off on anything until the draft and the fallout of players released afterwards. Idzik seems to be ultra patient and willing to wait it out. I believe he is thinking that If CJ, Reed, released player X are there after than great and if not he'll go with best available cheap player and compete.

Hoz
Hoz

@joemustgo @Hoz  Good chance they are but I bet they are waiting for his price to go down after all he was set to make 8 mil this yr lol.

joemustgo
joemustgo

@kniff @joemustgo  Agreed, but saying the team's patience with his lack of production is wearing thin (completely legitimate) is not the same as implying they are frustrated by a lack of effort.

Did you really compare Aldon Smith, a knucklehead, with rapists and murderers?

Really?

Wilkershakes

@a57se  Haha...Big Ben as a player would be a great acquisition.  However, I wouldn't want him on the Jets.

Most Jets fans would be happy with a mediocre passing game like the Seahawks....The Jets passing attack has been terrible and this is universally acknowledged

@a57se @Bent

No, you never would have made that comment in respect of Stannis or Greyjoy.  It was clear instantly what was going to happen and why you made that comment.

Dance around it all you like, it's obvious you won't accept any responsibility whatsoever, but I still don't see what could possibly be gained from making that comment and hope you'll think twice before doing that again.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @Bent

Because it was on last night and you always talk about it the day after it's on.

I read the comment (remember I have to read every comment, so it's not like I can hide away for 24 hours and avoid seeing the comments) and since it obviously wasn't referring to the Jets or anything else in the post, it was obviously going to be about that.  And it's not like you were ambiguous about what happened.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @Bent  Or you could have not said anything.  How about that?  What possible outcome could there be from that comment other than people seeing it and knowing what it was?  Or other people asking about and discussing what it was to make it all the more obvious.

Not even a trace of regret or remorse from you for ruining my night?  If I accidentally caused that even for one person (and even if it wasn't a situation where I should have known better), I'd at least be apologetic.  You're blaming me for spoiling my own night by being too sharp?  Come on, man.

I forgive you.  Just don't do it again or I'll chop your head off.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @Bent  No, I hadn't seen the show because it didn't air over here until just now (and no, I haven't read the books either).  However, it was blatantly obvious from your comment what you would be referring to, as confirmed by what just happened in the show.

So, yes, I just watched the whole thing knowing what was coming and my enjoyment was ruined as a result and I'm sure I'm not the only one.  Pretending otherwise didn't help.

Please be more considerate next time.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @Gavin Buck  Right, because you never make non-sequitur references to that particular show, so nobody would ever make that connection.

I would have respected and appreciated "I'm sorry, my mistake, I won't do it again" a lot more.

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @MarshRandy  It doesn't air until Monday night in the UK and elsewhere around the world so most people don't get the option to DVR it.  Still we only get around 5,000 non-US readers a day so it's probably only hundreds of people whose evening you've ruined.

blackwood1

@Wilkershakes @a57seHe wont fall out of the first rd or top 15, media hype & need for drama is driving that. Anybody who watched him play knows that's a bad bad man!!

Wilkershakes
Wilkershakes

@a57se @Wilkershakes   I've read that too, but I wonder if that really drops him out of the first round.  He was considered the 'safest' or most 'pro-ready' at the end of season.

He always wears gloves in games. He didn't wear gloves at his Pro Day.

@a57se @WilkershakesI'm still very interested in Zach Mettenburger (although there are a few others). It's a good idea for us to keep drafting a prototype QB every May until we strike gold...

@gusto  I think his point was they all have a history of getting in trouble. Don't think he was trying to compare their crimes
