Hey I can post again (Nick) well that's until they determine that "noeffingchance@yahoo.com" isn't really an email address...

I'm wasting at least $250.00 on the game tonight....

Has anyone else noticed that Madden seems to always hate on the Jets? Every year they're just a little worse than they should be, even after going to the AFC championship two years running they still weren't very good.

Wow, Pats starting Mallet tonight.  I think Brady is either in Bill's dog house (maybe related to Hernandez) or Brady's hurt.  Either way, something's up.

Geno didn't complete a single pass in practice today.

We're screwed.

Going to the game tonight should be fun

Anyone watch Hard Knocks - Falcons last night?  I was impressed with the level of hitting they're doing in practice.  And the size of Steven Jackson - man, that guy is a mountain.

My predictions

Geno has the most passing and rushing yards for QB's

Salas has the most catches for WR's

Sudfeld has the most catches for TE's

Daryl Richardson has the most yardage for RB's

Chad young has a catch for a TD

Rex has three fist pumps

Love to the Cavs? Ugh.

Let's get some predictions in for tonight. What willbe the higher number?

1. Turnovers by the offense or takeaways by the defense

2. Passing yards by Geno or running yards by Vick

3. Sacks by the defense or scoring drives by the offense

4. Hamstrings pulled or ACLs torn

...

Feel free to add your own.

Really I need confirmation of this so that I know it isn't just my Madden play lacking

@Ceifus Hornswoggle This sounds like Bill's old tricks, to be honest. Not having your starting QB play in preseason week 1 isn't normally how you do it, but I can see how it gives him a slight advantage. (The risk of Brady getting hurt outweighs whatever slight benefit Brady gets from playing in preseason.)

@Ceifus Hornswoggle Kroy Bierman has a reality show on Bravo so, of course, HBO sure made him part of the storyline -- even if he is a mediocre player. That sort of annoyed me.

@Ceifus Hornswoggle

I did. Jackson's an interesting guy. He travels the world during the offseason so he can see all the different cultures. It's cool to see that at least one of those guys uses his money for something meaningful.

Their rookie Hagemann is a character so I was hoping to get some good quotes out of him. He looked a little overwhelmed though. Needs to do some running like Coples needed to his first year.

@Ceifus Hornswoggle So you know, Hard Knocks is on Tuesday night. (They re-air it on Wednesday, as I luckily found out after I screwed up setting my new DVR.)

I saw a few things that kind of looked jacked up, to be honest. It didn't look like any of their QBs had a different color jersey in any of the practice scenes (to signify "DON'T HIT THIS GUY")

My wife was upset at how much they swore and how little anyone is upset about it. (The Jets on Hard Knocks was my wife's introduction to the team; we had been dating for about 5 months at that point. She remembers me being overly upset at it being a big deal that Rex Ryan swore.)

Apparently that Oklahoma drill sequence was staged because the episode would be too boring otherwise.

The high point of the episode for me was the Steven Jackson art gallery thing. The terra cotta warrior/football field photo was really cool.

So yeah, I don't predict a good season for Atlanta based on the first episode of Hard Knocks.

@levi

You forgot Kyle Wilson having the most celebrations for bad plays.

In the scrimmage, on the very first play, he pounded his chest after committing pass interference. Still up to his old tricks.

@levi "Daryl Richardson has the most yardage for RB's"

Yes ... albeit with more carries than the rest put together (and still less than Vick).

@Disgruntled Jets Fan Clyde Gates will drop 100 yds with s 3tds tonight

Ceifus Hornswoggle

@Disgruntled Jets Fan

1. Takeaways.  Offense will have 0 turnovers.  Defense will have 1 takeaway.

2.  Geno will pass for 120 yards.  Vick will run for 10.

3. Sacks.  Defense will have 8 sacks.  Offense will have 3 TD drives.

4. Luck will tear both ACLs on a sack by Wilkerson, first drop back of the game.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan

Predictions:

-Everyone will overreact to Geno's worst throw of the day

-One of the backup QBs will do well and everyone will overreact to that

-Indy first string offense will get rid of the ball super quick and everyone will panic that we didn't generate enough pressure

-Someone will bash the playcalling before the end of the first quarter

-The word "vanilla" will be used a lot

@Disgruntled Jets Fan Well I guess you cant curse them by talking about pulling hamstrings because apparently Bellicheck hired a witch to do that a couple years ago. It baffles me how many they have had.

@jmactheman @Ceifus Hornswoggle

Not sure what I was watching last night, because all the swearing was beeped out.

Yeah, Jackson seems like a well rounded guy.  It's nice seeing a pro who is about more than Bentleys and mansions.

If they can stay out of the injury doldrums, then the Falcons have to be better than last year.

jmactheman
jmactheman

@levi @Ceifus Hornswoggle Not really. The Falcons are kind of a boring organization from the looks of it. Of course, everyone knows that the Jets are the team to beat in terms of "good season of Hard Knocks."

levi

@Ceifus Hornswoggle  Yeah right Spent your know better than that, what one of our QB's can hit a guy in the chest 3 times?

Brendan

@John Ledo I had a few, but was put in a food coma before I had the chance to have too many. Chartered a boat and caught some bigggg striped bass, grilled them up for a big 'ol feast. It was glorious.

@t__k Is Vick definitely getting 1st team snaps tonight? If he is, I have to assume he's throwing a few.

Yeah,  but how many footballs will Clyde Gates drop along the way ?

@Bent @Disgruntled Jets Fan I'll go one step further and combine #1 and #2 to the future -- whichever QB does well between Simms and Boyd, the numbers they put up will be regurgitated at some point in November after Geno's worst throw of a game.

Disgruntled Jets Fan
Disgruntled Jets Fan

Between the Mets and the Jets, I pretty much expect a constant influx of hammies.

jmactheman
jmactheman

@Ceifus Hornswoggle @jmactheman Yeah, it was bleeped out in the airing I saw too. (It's HBO, I assume you're allowed to swear at 10 PM on a weeknight.) But they could have bleeped it out in 2010 too. And if was a media-created *BLEEP*-storm when Rex did it, it should be a  media-created *BLEEP*-storm when the Falcons do it.

(My personal thought is that maybe the media as a whole has gotten their heads out of their asses since 2010. Or maybe they started censoring everyone after 2010 so the media couldn't produce *BLEEP*-storms.)

I agree with you that the Falcons have nowhere to go but up after last year. I don't think they make the playoffs though.

Ceifus Hornswoggle
Ceifus Hornswoggle

@jmactheman @levi @Ceifus Hornswoggle

Mike Smith is a Papa Smurf kind of dude.  Doesn't seem to connect with his guys.  Then again, Rex is such a passionate, young-hearted force, that most NFL coaches probably look like couch cushions next to him.

@a57se @Bent @levi It'll probably be Michael Campbell, just to muddy the waters even more.

I've always felt like my Bentleys were too common to impress much.  And I can't seem to find a mansion that's big enough for me and my lovely wife, Princess.  Maybe I'm just bored of Bentley's and mansions.

Brendan

@t__k Ah, okay. Well, if that series is a 3-and-out, we probably can't really blame the team if there aren't any throws, but hopefully he has a nice drive in there.

@Ceifus Hornswoggle @a57se @jmactheman

Bentleys have actually become very common. I see them all over the place out in LA.

You should move into one of those converted bomb shelters. It would fit you very well, living underground.

@Brendan @t__k I just hope they don't run the ball on 1st and 2nd, get in 3rd and long, call a screen and go 3 and out and he's done.

@juunit
"I'm soo LA, I see Bentleys all the time"
Have you any idea how you sound? I've go to LA plenty and sure there's a lot of money in them hills, but if you think Bentley's are common then you misunderstand the meaning of common. But more to the point, this comment makes you sound like some sort of bag that might be used to contain feminine hygiene liquid of some sort.

@t__k But that'd be nostalgic, wouldn't it?

@t__k @Brendan First play will be a dump-off to Chris Johnson for a one yard loss.
