That Washington Post article is a painful walk down memory lane...

Rex said he is a great coach, but maybe not one of the all time greats. I’m glad he cleared that up.

What kind of question was that that was given to Rex about Dee in the DN article.  They ask him if he would stake his reputation on a 2nd yr corner to be a Pro-Bowler.

I don't think that anyone would stake their reputation on someone else.  Rex was right in saying that he would stake his reputation on haw the team played as a whole but not on one player.

Talk about a loaded question.

I will be in Cortland Thursday morning to see how the team is looking. Unless work screws up my plans but I dont plan to answer the phone with those things this week.

If this team ever gets a top ten performance from the QB position, the sky is the limit for our boys.

It's so hard to have a bad record in the year when there are a bunch of good QB's coming out of college.  This past draft was supposed to be filled with great QB's and the more they were scrutinized the more holes that were found in their games.

Curious to see who winds up with the best career - I'm thinking Teddy Bridgewater.  He is the one guy when he slid by us I cringed a little hoping he doesn't turn out to be a great one,  but I'm very happy with Calvin Pryor.

@Cooper12 He needs the appropriate hardware before entering that realm of discussion, and probably more than once.

Haha...I start vacation on Thursday but I decided not to go to Jets camp. With my eyesight, it would be a waste of time!

Have fun there!

The thing is, most of the so called great QB's that were supposed to populate this draft were media products. The college is game is getting so much more attention these days with the round the year NFL coverage that everyone wants to find the next gem so guys get their games inflated by the media then brought back down to earth in the draft process...

There is always going to be hype with college QB's like Manziel and many others.  Between last year and this year I haven't seen a guy that Idzik should have targeted as a can't miss guy to build around.

Idzik is a smart guy and I'm sure he's hoping Geno Smith is the answer but he will continue to look for the guy who can be that guy.

There has always been hype around college QB's but over the last 10 to 15 years, that hype has multiplied.

Guys who wouldn't ordinarily be talked about are now being featured as if they are top prospects in the media.

It all gets sorted on draft day though some do get their stock affected by it...I think Bortles is a prime example.
