Don't understand all the obj hype cooks and lee are better IMHO but I really want defense in the first round I know I'm in the minority but this team has an identity based on its defense and we having been worse on that side of the ball need to improve the pass defense cj Mosley haha Clinton Dix Calvin Pryor if Dix is gone I like Pierre desir so we don't need cb in the first wouldn't be mad if Barr fell to 18 but would take the guys listed before him

If a combination of a WR, TE & CB in our first 3 rds everything else will b icying on the cake

18 Cooks

 49 ASJ

 80 Jean-Baptise.....For example

Say what you will about Tanny (mostly that he gave out bloated contracts to players who hadn't proved to be worth them), but I think 2011 was his best draft, and a really solid one. Wilkerson at #30, Kenrick Ellis in the 3rd, Powell in the 4th, Kerley in the 5th, that's a whole lot of starting production out of one draft. If we could get that many starting-caliber players out or our first 5 picks this year, we would be in excellent shape.

This tweet doesn't make much sense to me, but Rapoport is better than most so...

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet  15h

2 teams pondering trading up for a WR: #49ers & #Jets. Beckham, Cooks, Lee possible targets. For SF, move into teens more likely than Top 5.

CB or WR?  The most logical way to choose is to evaluate which of those positions will be the richest in round 2, then pick the CB or WR that will be the hardest to find in subsequent rounds.

"Jets might choose cornerback in Round 1", you don't say???

@Bent

He slipped up there and hinted at what the Jets front office explicitly told reporters not to leak: The Joe Haden trade.  Rich won't be getting much access after this, not that he had much to begin with.

@Bent

I think he is more parrot on this one...he just throws out whatever the ESPN 'analysts' give him....

That is even worse to me because it would mean he is too frickin' lazy to figure it out for himself.

An offense that can actually sustain drives and keep the defense resting will really go a long ways. The amount of 3 and outs we had last year put so muchpressure on the D. An improved O will help the d out. We need to upgrade WR. I would be fine with ODB, Benjamin or Cooks(I prefer ODB) wouldnt touch Lee at 18.

@jaygo  I'd def take the under on Mack.

Hope about we trade up back into the 2nd , for safety Bucannon

@Hoz  I'd be smiling with this kind of haul, although I prefer Phillip Gaines at CB.

@funkymonk I agree - the fact that draft regraded as a B by this clown just illustrates how the word Jets immediately causes these writers to start downgrading... He is still giving the Pats a B+ despite them striking out with nearly every pick except the over-rated Solder (who I love since he always seems to get totally frazzled by Rex)

Was a solid draft when we pick big mo I was pissed have to admit it I was like who the hell is this guy and he played at temple lol glad that one worked out btw my cuz who is a ravens fan was laughing at me because we picked mo

@WW85

Seems to me the NY Giants stayed put the year they Drafted Nicks 1st round 29th pic . That years draft was full of good receivers. I Think the Giants got a good one in Nicks.

@WW85  Also saw this rumor on ChatSports that we are looking to move up to get the WR we want. Realize that this is the " lying" season; but, if the WR was Mike Evans....

how much better is Evans then OBJ,Cooks,Lee ? Is trading up worth it for Evans if we were pretty sure we could get one of the other three ?

@WW85

If the 49ers are looking to jump ahead of the Jets,  it makes sense for Idzik to let teams know he is also willing to move up and let every team know getting to 17 might not be good enough.

@WW85  If the Jets move up to 10 to take Beckham I will cry.

Cordell C
Cordell C

That makes since but there are quality receivers available in every round this year....I think lee is a beast he was my favorite college receiver in 2012 can't blame him for bad qb play if we take a wr high I think it should be him if we don't trade up for Evans and as far as the speed concerns he ran track and the speed shows up on tape he reminds me of a young santonio Holmes

Cordell C

I think manzel is this years geno smith he's not going top 10 may not go first round and espn is going to cronicle his drop in the draft

@1969JAN12th Evans is just a totally different animal. I think he's the only top 10 guy we invited. He runs a 4.52    6-5" Great hands.

WW85

@bklyndude If Evans falls to 10, would it be shocking to move up 7-8 spots to grab him?

WW85
WW85

@Brendan I could understand if it's for Evans if he falls to 10. I could also understand if it's just moving up a few spots ahead of the steelers to take OBJ. Dont agree with it, but I'd understand it if they love OBJ.

Wilkershakes

@Brendan @WW85   Grantland had a theory about the Jets trading up with the Raiders to take Evans at the 5th spot.

@WW85 That's one of the only things that would legitimately upset me.

Schaub was good up until last year I Just don't think manzel will be good....good college player yes but I don't think he has the mental makeup or the skills to be a productive nfl qb

MarshRandy

@Cordell C  so you're saying you'd rather face Johnny Football in his first NFL game than Matt Schaub?

We will see I hope Oakland takes him though to guarantee that week one win for us

@WW85 @bklyndude

I don't see Evans getting past TB at 7.

But I'm sure other teams will be interested in Evans if he gets to 10, including the Jets.

WW85
WW85

@Brendan I'll be upset if we dont take Cooks EVEN IF OBJ is there. But I'm not Idzik

Brendan
Brendan

@WW85 Well, OBJ better be everything 57 thinks he is if they move up to take him with Cooks and/or Lee still sitting there.

funkymonk

@Wilkershakes @Brendan @WW85  I can't quite remember where I read it (either Dyer or Cimini), but someone reported that a source on the team said they're open to trading up, but probably only a few spots at most because of the huge cost of those top picks.

Brendan
Brendan

@Wilkershakes That works, but I doubt another team would take a pick next year over one this year like that, for the same reasons.

Brendan
Brendan

@Wilkershakes Oh wow. Yeah, that's a lot. Drop next year's 2nd off that deal and I'm game.

Wilkershakes
Wilkershakes

@Brendan @Wilkershakes   Barnwell was discussing how the Texans selection is a domino for how the draft will play out (of course!).  But he went with the jets trading the 18th, 49th, 104th plus next year's 2nd rounder to get it.  Way too much IMO.

@Brendan @WW85

I think we're going to need a starting caliber QB either this year or next.  Is there any QB in next years draft that tickles your fancy?  If not, then would you rather grab one of this year's QBs or look to free agency next year?

WW85
WW85

@Brendan I dont really get Idzik's fascination with Garopolo either. Bortles would create quite a spike in TJB viewers.

Cordell C

I would love the Mosley pick I'm not sold on dd and don't think haris is that good I think Harris looked good last year because of the great d line would like a lb who can actually cover maybe get some picks if cj is a luke or ray I would deff sign up for that
