(miketaliaferro) Isn't it true that Rich Cimini's continued presence at ESPN NY is almost guaranteed to stunt Ashley Fox's development there? At what point do they look to their future? At what point does ESPN finally cut its ties & release Cimini in favor of the younger, healthier Fox?

ESPN's John Clayton says Marshawn Lynch will be a candidate to be cut in 2015.

Lynch will turn 29 years old next offseason and is owed $7.5 million in total compensation -- none of which is guaranteed. Before then, the Seahawks will be handing out hefty extensions to core youngsters such as Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman. It will be an unpopular, but not overly difficult decision for the Seahawks to move on from Lynch as they can hand the reigns to Christine Michael and save a ton of cash in the process. C-Mike remains one of our favorite Dynasty holds.

This is why you draft RB's now...... we will be replacing Johnson in 2 years at the most and Ivory as well.

The Seahawks were smart to draft Lynch's replacement last year. They will probably give him (Christine Michael) more reps this year so in 2015 he'll be ready to go as the starter.

PFF's analysis is interesting.  By Geno getting blitzed the highest percentage as well as holding the ball for too long, the percentage of pressure does not look that bad.  Especially considering the turnstile play of Winters.  This is pretty good pass blocking line.  Want more mauling in the run game, but this is a solid solid group.

Two different Fanspeak mocks, with two different approaches:

A. Receiver First Draft

R1-Odell Beckham, WR

R2-DeMarcus Lawrence, DE

R3-Marcus Roberson, CB

R4-Martavis Bryant, WR

R4-Dion Bailey, S

R4-Yawin Smallwood, ILB

R5-Dri Archer, RB

B. Corner First Draft

R1-Darqueze Dennard, CB

R2- Allen Robinson, WR

R3- Telvin Smith, OLB

R4- Jarvis Landry, WR

R4- Arthur Lynch, TE

R4- De'Anthony Thomas, RB

R5- Antone Exum, CB

Which one do you prefer?

Rich Cimini @RichCimini

Without Revis, the Jets allowed a staggering 3,947 passing yds, a 900-yd increase from previous yr and most by a Jets team since 1986.

Rich forgets that Revis only played in like 1 1/2 games the "previous yr".

That article , "A  look at pressure and sack rates" was very good. I came away with a QB that is naturally good at evading pressure combined with a a strong oline, will do the trick, lol

Cimini already sharpening his pitchfork!    "It will take four months to decide Smith vs. Vick, but you can bet every pass, every action and every word uttered by them and their teammates will be micr0-analyzed by the media. Practices (OTAs) don't start until May 27, so prepare for five weeks of rhetoric, followed by pass-by-pass analysis on Twitter. Hey, it's New York and we love a good quarterback controversy. "

Wait until all the animal protests on top this get rolling and make no mistake, they are mobilizing already. OY

The off season program starts today, and and less than 5 months to kick off, yeah baby!

If I remember correctly Kenrick Ellis Was drafted in the 3rd round however they say he  fell because of legal troubles. So will  Kenrick  play like a 1st round pic this year or was that just a bunch of media hype.

@a57se  I bet the Jets get linked with him even though they'll still have Ivory and Johnson under contract next year.

Seatlle picked Michael in the 2nd round......FWIW!

@J. Smooth  I dont see how Robinson would be there at 49 or Landry in rd 4?   Landry may go before Robinson in rd 2.

@J. Smooth   I like it however. What about a offensive line man ..No dancing bears?

@bob  Your agent needs to get some team to throw you a bone.

Bent

@jetlife  It was even less than that.  He basically played half a game against the Bills before getting concussed and then half a game against Miami before blowing out his knee.

Good at evading the sack but then throwing the interception

@jake100  "you can bet every pass, every action and every word uttered by them and their teammates will be micr0-analyzed by the media"

Whereas TJB will provide Jets fans with more rational and sensible coverage.

@jake100  You realize what you just quoted is a completely fair and accurate statement, right? That is 100% what is going to happen.

And stop with the animal protest stuff, that will not be an issue whatsoever.

@bob  I think he will play like a first round pick, but he might not produce like a first round pick because he'll split reps with Snacks.  That's cool though, just means we're getting first round level production all the time (maybe even better because they can both remain fresher than they would in a full time rule).

@bob  Ellis already played well last year. It's not realistic to expect him to start over one of the league's top NTs though.

They get linked with every Free Agent but a Seahawk? For sure, unless Idzik is gone.

@a57se Hoping a young player who showed promise last year to improve is not wishing on a star, no matter how many times you say so.

@Bent @jetlife(miketaliaferro) Yes, but as Rich clearly points out, Revis is so feared he mind controls other teams into not throwing the ball, even from the sidelines... and EVEN from IR. Yes, he's THAT good!

Wilkershakes

@Bent @jake100   Didn't they just do this the last two years?  I mean really...who cares.  Cimini (media) is snarking on the media coverage.  That's funny.

@Brendan @jake100  I think the last sentence should have read:

"Hey, I'm Rich Cimini and I love a good quarterback controversy."

Hey Bent I got thinking that this would be a really good question And would love to hear your thoughts on Ellis and here you are cool.

@jaygo @Bent @jake100

The Jets fan base is as passionate about their team as any other and the media preys on this passion.

Truth and accuracy is not a priority.

The media motto should be "Controversy and Clicks"

@jake100 @jaygo @Bent

What kind of trouble do you see ?

A QB competition between two non-franchise type QB's happens all of the time.

UncleJoesJetFarm
UncleJoesJetFarm

@jaygo @jake100 @Brendan  I hope you are right but I really see a mess coming with Idzik trying his best to quash it, but he has only so much control over protests and media flame reporting. Remember, the ny media are masters at fueling the fire, that is what they do best and this gives them one heck of a target. Also remember , the fuel will not be hardcore Jet fans but all the other entities jumping in to raise hell. It will not be pretty. Vick was a huge mistake.

@jaygo @jake100 @Brendan

Not really an opinion, just a pessimistic outlook.  Hope you are right and maybe the media even learned a lesson from the Tebow debacle, which didn't exactly land anyone on the Pulitzer watch-list.

Bent
Bent moderator

@jake100 @jaygo @Brendan  It probably will be daily headlines.  After all, they used any excuse to write a Tebow headline, nearly always when one wasn't warranted.

Remember "Tebow throws ball into trash can"?

Jets fans are smart enough to recognize a non-story when they see one though.

UncleJoesJetFarm
UncleJoesJetFarm

@jaygo @jake100 @Brendan  True, it is just an opinion, but I truly think this will happen based on all the facts of the situation. NY is hot bed with a savage media, animal groups are already mobilizing (trust me on that one), Vick is a circus magnet and wants to be the starter as he made it very clear, it is the perfect storm for a circus.

UncleJoesJetFarm
UncleJoesJetFarm

@jaygo @Brendan @jake100   It will be daily headlines! Vick will not help Geno, he wants to be THEE starter end of story. Between that and the animal protest, I see a mess coming!!!!!!!

Bent

@Brendan @jetlife  Stands to reason that he would view himself as above "the media".

Brendan
Brendan

@jetlife I think he's taking jabs at Manish there, since Manish went ballistic on the pass charting with Tebow in camp (even though there was never even a competition). I've noticed Cimini kind of being a dck towards "the media" in his tweets the past few weeks.

It's obviously too early to say, but Idzik may have actually forced Cimini to act like a journalist in order to get better access than the beat as a whole.
