I'm a sick individual. Right now I'm laying in bed for the first time with this beautiful girl I've been in love with since the 7th grade, yet I still pick up my phone off the floor to check TJB. #nevergiveup #tjb4life

If the Jets really wanted him, they would've gotten him signed yesterday.  Obviously, they aren't offering him enough money to make up his mind.  Izzy just wanted some media smoke screen to cover the fact he has no cornerbacks, no wide receivers, and the league's worst quarterback.

I don't get the hysteria over CJ by some Jet fans. Sure he'd be a nice compliment but we were the 6th ranked rushing offense in the league behind Ivory and Powell. No dire need at RB as some of you project.

Do you guys think Idzik is adjusting to the increased cap properly or quickly enough? With the cap growing between 7-9% a year, it seems, I think we can ask if a GM is keeping up with the inflation?

Dyer is consistently the voice of reason, which is why he's destined to work at Metro for eternity because none of the rags will hire him with common sense articles like this!

The team source said “a contract was offered to Chris that was attractive and certainly at his value.” But the Jets knew all along that Johnson was a longshot to sign today, as the team source said he wanted to test his value on the market.

On Tuesday morning, the team source informed Metro that between the Jets and Johnson, interest was “mutually high between both parties” and nothing has changed since Johnson left the team facility. The package offered to the player was a multi-year deal, the source said.

@dapoktan  I think we will bring someone in to compete with him, either via the Draft or after it.

While the guy was a liability quite often last year, it is understandable as he was moving from Tackle to Guard. With a year under his belt, I am hoping to see a marked improvement from liability to below average.

I think it is also quite telling that he replaced Vlad after week 4 and was never considered to be replaced again, so with Vlad it might have been worse!!

@MeAtBaLLPaRmX   TJB til she wakes then back it, my friend.  Whether you put the phone done during is up to you.

Fans do not understand how this works. Idzik knows what the cap is. There is no "adjusting". He assigns a value to players and positions. If a player is offered more money by another team then that player walks. Simple. T do business based on what a handful of other teams are willing to pay would be foolish.

@jake100  So, in other words, "Please, Mr. Idzik....give me more money?"

@jake100  Link?

Is it the person who said he was on his way to Atlanta last night? Or the person who said he was on his way to Buffalo last night?

@MarshRandy  I saw it last weekend, and you can tell it was written for people who don't spend as much time thinking about the draft and the NFL in general as most of the people here. Lots of things happening because they further the plot instead of because they make sense.

@MarshRandy  Where's Bob-o? I know he was excited about it, I bet he checked it out on opening weekend.

@Pete Whalen  Please stop being thoughtful & logical; you are ruining the Idzik is cheap, a moron, over-his-head narrative.

@Pete Whalen  Well the value he assigns to a player should include the rising cap & that is what I'm asking. If he's not accounting for an annual 8% cap rise, he's not doing a good job. If he has adjusted for that, then your point is valid. I'm guessing that he has adjusted for it(the guy was a math major at Darmouth), but it's a valid question to ask.

@a57se @WW85  No, that's wrong.  They gave Winters MORE responsibility over the last four games and he responded positively.  It was earlier in the year that they totally took stuff off his plate to make his life easier.

You think the chart looks bad now, you should have seen it at the end of November!

@a57se I thought Bent wrote a post about his improvement late in the season?  Maybe I'm mis remembering.

@WW85. Please think about what you're saying. If any GM got a memo right now that said the cap is being increased by say 8%, how long do you think it would take them to multiply all the values they had for players and positions by 1.08 and come up with new values?

From the sample of comments on this blog I would say that I understand how business in general is conducted better than most here. At the same time I am sure that there are others who understand it better than me.

@Pete Whalen  It's only going up like this now due to the new agreement. This is relatively new for NFL GMs to deal with--these type of rapid increases & potentially rapid falls as well.

Pete Whalen

The cap always goes up. And since his "strength" is supposed to be the cap and contracts I have to believe that this process is something he is very familiar with since he has been in front offices for many years.

The Living Bible says in Malachi 3-10  bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there would be food enough in my temple; if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and poor you out a blessing so great you wont have room enough to take it in.

Try it! let me prove it to you! ( right here is where God I saying put him to the test.)

I have learned this that God confirms his word with signs following.

And God will promote the man who promotes his word.

I really cant explain tithing but some how people find favor with me at work. and want to hire me to do their work.

@Brendan I'm a big fan of Jennifer Garner's looks. The movie looks super corny but I may see it when I'm stuck back home for easter weekend with nothing to do

Brendan

@MarshRandy Jennifer Garner is a great actor, she apparently latched onto an actual Browns cap guru to learn her role. I respect her quite a bit, but Costner showing up on ESPN doing his cool-guy routine with a 9ft. scarf and conquistador mustache was just reeking of douchitude.
