Buying real estate doesn't mean much. Real estate is always a good long term investment, especially with prices not all the way back up yet. I mean, maybe he is sticking around. But buying a house doesn't prove that.

What do you guys think of Mark on a 4 million per year deal?

Sproles may be available. Jets need to talk to the Saints.

Great idea.....Lets pay the buttfumble bozo TURNOVER MACHINE QB another 4 million dollars......please stop this garbage and move on......sickening at this point

Crazy talk.....Sanchez isn't worth that.....4 million dollars is a lot of money to pay for a turnover machine, buttfumbling bozo

@a57se @juunit  Always important to keep in mind when discussing real estate...their are two prices: the ASKING and the ACTUAL GETTING.

I'm on my phone so I didn't read it but that seems an unrealistic asking price unless the place was renovated.

Let me get this straight....Harold would consider paying a turnover prone buttfumble machine 4 million dollars a season when the Jets already have a turnover prone QB who isn't a buttfumble machine who's making just $400 thousand dollars.

This is divine comedy at it's finest!!!!

Lets pay Sanchez 1000% more than Geno.

Brilliant idea Harold....

When will it end....

@jake100 @harold

If we can't trade him and don't like the options available we may just bite the bullet.  However I think Mark may try to force himself out, after the reported shouting match with Idzik.

I don't see it, but the more I think about, I can see why it may have more of a chance than before.

@MarshRandy @will898

The Saints don't have much cap space so they may be willing to part with him, but I don't think it would be cheap.  So in that case, no thanks

@Brendan @juunit

It's not the price, but the change in price that's surprising. That's over a 50% increase in one year. Even the French Quarter after Katrina didn't rise that much in a single year.

Brendan
Brendan

@juunit  Tribeca lofts are some of the most expensive real estate in NYC. That price doesn't surprise me at all.

I want Colon back if healthy,  which I assume he will be.  You never know how long it will take any new guy once they see live action.

Bent
Bent moderator

@bklyndude @Bent @Brendan  True...but then they could still sign a Colon (or another vet) and then release them if younger guys step up (like with Peterman).

bklyndude

@Bent @Brendan

Wouldn't bringing Colon back be based on how they view the young guys they added to the team last year.

Brendan
Brendan

@Bent I lean towards "yes," but wouldn't have been shocked to see them look elsewhere.

Bent

@Brendan @Bent  Wonder if they'd have viewed bringing him back as a no-brainer entering into that last game where he got hurt.

Brendan
Brendan

@Bent I think there is a mutual respect & interest, but Colon understands how this works by now.

Bent

@Brendan @kniff  Yeah, can't see anyone giving him a contract until he's healthy, so logically he was always unlikely to get a deal before next week.

kniff
kniff

@Brendan @kniff  True, and I knew that but all opinions I've heard said it would heal, and he showed heart last season....

and yes, I'm very concerned about pass protection!!

Brendan
Brendan

@kniff Remember he tore his bicep the final game of the year, so that's a concern.

Brendan
Brendan

@jake100 I think he's the fallback option. They will look at FA's and players in the draft, and if they're not happy with their G depth they'll bring him back.

I think if you feel the GM didn't look out for your best interests, you may not want to stick around.

@bradysucks

His ypc average for 2013 is 1.2 less in outside games and yards per catch is 6.8 outdoors and 9.5 indoors so maybe you're onto something there.

Then again, his ypc was 0.5 higher outdoors in 2012 and yard per catch about the same.  Perhaps this will affect him more as he gets older though.

Sproles benefits playing indoors on that fast surface. In the cold in NJ he won't be the same guy. He is still good, but I wouldn't overpay for him

@bklyndude i really enjoyed how ivory punished defenses. he needs to come to camp in better shape and take care of those hammys so he can be a punisher from game 1 on

bklyndude

@Brendan @bklyndude    Who the Jets would have drafted with that pick versus the production of Chris Ivory seems like a no brainer.  Looking forward to seeing him run again this season.

Brendan
Brendan

@bklyndude 57 was against the move the moment it was made. Ivory will need a 1400 yard season for 57 to acknowledge it was even slightly worthwhile.

bklyndude
bklyndude

@a57se   Are you saying you prefer Shonn Greene to Chris Ivory ?   Because I'm sure you would be in the minority.

Would most people give up a 4th rounder for the Jets leading rusher if they had to do it over ?   I think yes is the answer.

idothis2
idothis2

@Brendan @idothis2 i'm not sure about the guarantees remaining on goodson's contract, but dumping goodson for sproles would be an upgrade. i dont see sproles commanding more that 3.5mil a season which wouldnt be a bank breaker

idothis2
idothis2

@Brendan @idothis2 what do u think his cost will be Brendan?

idothis2
idothis2

@Bent @idothis2or perhaps their O wouldve clicked the entire game and he wouldve been the answer to the heat coples was bringing on brees

idothis2

@a57se add 7 points to each NO total sounds about right

Brendan
Brendan

@idothis2 Sproles would be a great tool for Marty, but his cost will be too high.

Bent

@idothis2 @Bent  He went down after two plays.  Maybe they would have not looked good anyway.

idothis2
idothis2

@Bent yet as soon as sproles hit the deck in the jets game their offense didnt look good

Bent
Bent moderator

@a57se @idothis2  Sproles missed three games in 2012.  The Saints won 28-13, 31-27 and 38-13 over the Eagles, Falcons and Raiders respectively without Sproles.

idothis2

@a57se @idothis2 payton is the brain, but sproles makes brees' life easier than graham does i think

idothis2

@Brendan @a57se Sproles is the engine that keeps the saints offense going

Brendan

@a57se If they're better than the current player they're replacing, why wouldn't you?
