Jesus would forgive Vick.

He went to prison and paid his debt to society. It isn't like he wasn't punished.

I eat steak and lamb and chicken and turkey and venison and fish and love it. I guess I'm a killer too then of animals.

Seriously I love dogs but the guy did go to prison. He paid his debt

In the hope of getting back to real business...

...I've long suspected that Sanchez is the key to the Jet thinking re 'veteran competition' and backup to Geno.    I think they're still attached to Sanchez, and have to be persuaded to cut him, either by being offered a draft pick, confronted with his unwillingness to take less money, or have a bird in hand clearly better than Sanchez for the type money Idzik's willing to pay for a backup that he and everyone else hopes never really has to play.

With that in mind, this whole dance with Vick could also be tied to Sanchez.   The timing is perfect.   Bring Vick in days before a decision has to be made re Sanchez, maybe hoping to convince him to restructure, so Vick's visit tomorrow could be as much about Sanchez as it is about Vick.   We all know by now that releasing him isn't driven by Idzik's need to create more cap room...he's got no intention of spending what he's already got and doesn't necessary need more to sign FA's.

I personally wish Mark well but think he and the team are better off if he moves on, and yet I'm no more sure the Jets want to part company with him than I am that Vick is the answer, and there aren't many viable options still out there.   Should be fun to watch this unfold over the next few days.

Well here we go the jets blog will turn into the morality blog for the next couple weeks I'm taking a break later. Might as well rename it theholymoralityblog.com

I was a Sanchez supporter, after his first few years but, they really have to let him move on.  I wish him the best but, I have seen enough of him.  If we kept him, he would not be happy being a back up.  You don't pay a back-up $6 million.  With all the other needs that we still have, QB is probably our most serious problem.  I thought that Idzik would have realized that, our Offense needs help and has been hurting for years.  Unfortunately, he has done very little, so far, to help that side of the ball.  Colon and Goodson, are coming off injuries and cannot be relied on.  If Colon starts and goes down, Geno would be running for his life.  Idzik better wake up or Geno and the fans are in for another long season.

Why are people neglecting the fact that Vick just isn't good..... and injury prone... dogs aside I still wouldn't want him.

@coryv

Not unless you get the phone number to call in.

It is provided by the Jets media relations department and given out to local media.

So unlikely.

@a57se This draft is deep. I wouldn't be upset with whomever is the BPA at 18. However, with the players available in this mock draft Cooks or Pryor would be my picks.

@a57se

I believe the pick will be Pryor.  I would like Cooks

@bradysucks  I'm gonna assume you have no idea what he did. Most people know the difference between eating meat and bashing multiple dogs against cement till the brain matters come out.

@bradysucks  , it's not even that, the dude learned a lesson. What good would it have been if he did time and still didn't care.

Now you know why Mendenhal retired.

Lucky we have laws, I'd take a bat to a few ppl heads.

Trade Sanchez to Buffalo so our defense can play against him twice a year if he wins the job. I'd love watching him throw his pick 6's to the Jets

@lagoo  If you're going to discuss the possibility of adding Vick, then his contentious past must be held to account. His acquisition is going to invoke the wrath of a sizable segment of the fan base and the team will be adding someone who is mentally unstable.

@a57se Your numbers are in Chip Kelly's offense.  Vick's 3-year stats in MM's offense were much better.  The argument against Vick is health and turnovers (he fumbles a lot).  But, when he's been healthy, he's been very productive in MM's offense.

harvlis

@a57se I don't want Vick either but, those stats just show that Foles had a very nice season.  5 TD's to 3 INT's is not a bad ratio, compared to Geno.

Great stuff a57e I totally agree in addition people will be divided in opinion. Fans and players just  think not worth it.

@Johnsbodybyvi Ledo Everyone's entitled to their opinion and reasons on which players they like for the team to acquire.  I can disagree with you, and I'd be ok with the Jets acquiring Vick.  But I won't debate you and why you don't want him unless it's on the field related.

Get over it. All that matters is can he help us win. Ray Lewis most likely murdered someone but we all love him.

@a57se @coryv         It's probably to laugh at them after some website/blogger learned the Jets were interested in trading for CB Joseph.   I hope Idzik leaked it to that guy,  that would be funny.

@a57se @coryv  Yeah I guess so...I was still kinda hoping he could back...but I wish him the best...he was a good Jet

@privatejet @bradysucks  In addition to bashing their heads on concrete, the dogs were electrocuted, drowned, tortured and forced to tear each other apart. This operation was conducted for the worst possible reason: it was solely for his amusement. Michael Vick is a sociopath.

@Zartan @bradysucks So the fear of prison time is the only thing stopping you from attempted murder?

@harvlis @a57se  No, the problem stat there is 54.6%.  That's still craptastic.

Not that we can get a backup with much better, of course.

I just thought Cro represented a fair amount of risk with his hips.  I don't know what he signed for - if it was cheap maybe it was worthwhile, but he probably deserves more than "cheap."

@Jeff E. Guy @privatejet@bradysucks Give it a rest  If he's a sociopath what of the millions of people who hunt for fun and shoot trap animals. unless youre a vegan who doesn't wear leather in any way you eat meat from cows, pigs chickens that are belted inj the head with sledge hammers. if you wear furs they're from animals who are electrocuted by having an electric probe shoved up there ass. no one calls people who do that sociopaths, if you are raised thinking dogfighting , cockfighting are sports that doesn't make you a sociopath .  if you learn from your prison tterm that that isn't tolerated in OUR society your as normal as any of us. Millions od deer are killed annually by millions of people for"fun" are they sociopaths?

I never said it was. Those are your words. Prison usually makes people worse. Like I said before - Vick has been publicly shamed and he went to prison where he was punished for his crime.

I can forgive the guy. I don't see how hating on him solves anything. I'll hate him on the Jets if he sucks at QB - but if he can help the team I'm willing to accept the fact that he was punished for his crimes and move on.

I believe in Karma and he has his karmic dues to pay without my further judgement. I already hated on him for his crime and I am willing to watch and see if he continues on the right path. By all indications he has been a model citizen and teammate on the Eagles and I was impressed with how he handled the Riley Cooper thing in that locker room..

bradysucks
bradysucks

I know what Vick did but I also know he was punished for it and he has to live with it forever.

I believe people can be rehabilitated. Not everybody....but some. The man went to prison and was publicly shamed. He paid his debt to society as far as I am concerned.
