Good morning!

These rankings can (and should) be used as bulletin board fodder to fire up our team.

They are about as accurate as the draft predictions... so don't let that 19th and 30th stuff above ruin your week bros!!

Wow, the comments by some fans are astounding in the first link by PFF that the Jets rank #19, the Farm is very upset!

@UncleJoesJetFarm

Sometimes you come across like a Used Car salesman from the 70's...

Can you dig it?

@kniff 19 is fair, imo. They were an 8-8 team last year and they come this year with a lot of young players needing to play big roles. I'm confident that they can, but I understand those who want the Jets to prove it before rewarding them with a high ranking.

30th is just good 'ol LOLJets nonsense, but 19 isn't that unfair.

@kniff We have many questions that can either turn out great or terrible or anywhere in between and that is was makes this season very interesting. If we are favorable in 80-90% of the questions we make real noise this season. If we are favorable in 60-75%, we make it into the post season but wont go too far. If we are around 50% we play tough and competitive but miss the post season. 30-40%, a 7 win season, under that, oh well. Rex needs the 60-75% minimum range to keep his job.

****** Disclaimer****** The farm did not come up with the above math in a objective analytical  manner. I asked my cow Nellie, but she has been very accurate in the past.

@UncleJoesJetFarm That is PFT, not PFF. And why would you ever read the comments on a PFT article? They are the worst group of football minds on the internet.

@UncleJoesJetFarm @kniff

You GOTTA explain this...where are your facts?????

We need every detail of your reasoning so we can pick it to death and make you look like an arse!!!!

@UncleJoesJetFarm I don't ever read them, but let's see if I can guess some of the wisdom being spouted off.

Did they pick out single games against worst competition to say the Jets were undeserving?

Did they cherry-pick stats to try and prove the Jets are worse than teams behind them?

Did they overstate the deficiencies while ignoring anything worthwhile?

Those guys do the same thing any time the Jets get mentioned. And reading those comments you'd think the Billdos and Dolphins have the same type of consistently deplorable media coverage that the Jets get.

@Brendan Check this comment out from http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/13/the-jets-land-at-no-19-in-pfts-preseason-power-rankings/!   " The jets won almost every single close game last year. They also gave up 100 more point than they scored.

They also allowed more yards per attempt than they themselves gained.
Every single stat you can look at from last year says the Jets were a fraud 8-8 team that got lucky almost every time they needed to. Think about the Lavante David personal foul that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory."

@Brendan @UncleJoesJetFarm Yeah, I don't think they are too fond of the Jets. One of the comments hit the nail on the head, either you love the Jets or hate them, that is our signature.

@UncleJoesJetFarm Wow, that comment literally hit all three of my questions. Picked out a single game? Yup (Lavonte David was the Tampa Bay game). Did they cherry-pick stats? Yup (y/a for vs. against?). Did they overstate deficiencies and ignore anything good? I'd say so.

@Brendan @UncleJoesJetFarm I dont think they picked only one game, he mentioned the 100 point differential which happened over the course of the season and some other stats. The Davis comment was just one game though. I can see the point in that comment on a bloated 8-8 record, but they also have to consider we had a rookie qb with no offensive weapons, so I agree, it was a little harsh.

Half of that 100 points came in 1 game. That also has to be considered. 3 games the team got drubbed. The rest they won or was close enough to have a chance to win.

@UncleJoesJetFarm @Brendan

How can you say that they are not cherry picking, when you use the TB game as an example and that was the 1st game of Geno's carreer.  He has shown improvementin the last 1/4 of the year and has gained 16 games of experiance since then.

The 100 pt differential was gained in the early and middle of the season.  The Defferential stat does not take into account any improvement or regression that happened durring the year.  And we deffinatly had improvement.
