The best way we can help either qb is add talent around them

I say.... I say..... I say................Draft in the TRENCHES boys it will make you an honest man.

I will be very upset with all you bloggers if you don't guard all your stuff.

Kind of random but Noel Devine was at West Virginia's pro day and supposedly ran very well. I know he's small but maybe sign him as a KR? He's similar build to Trindon Holliday and could probably be signed for cheap. Just a thought

Now the real question: will this be a legit competition at camp

levi

I knew Geno wouldnt give up his #7. It would be like admitting Vick is better and he's very competitive.

It's official! The Jets are to blame for the buttfumble and 52 turnovers in 2 years!

Mark is not to blame.

Got it

I am psyched about Vick vs Geno and the draft

Buttfumble/Tebow/clown era at QB finally has been put out of its misery

The 2011 Ravens game seemed to be the turning point in Sanchez's Jet career. He got pummeled when Mangold was out. He never seemed to be the same after that. Check his career stats before and after that game.

Any body see the 20k hate comments on face book over the Vick signing. Ridiculous.

They couldn't keep Sanchez and Vick because Sanchez is a dog and, Vick might get sudden urges. Lord knows, I wanted to kill Sanchez, a number of times. Until we find a franchise QB, Vick will be fine. Good move.

Is it safe to come out? are the mad people gone?

Who's this Martavis Bryant character and where is he projected to draft?

bharper42

The cimini article is non sense.   He tells us how bad sanhez is and blames the jets for it.  lol, so stupid.  the only thing in the article that made sense was ryan drafting defense and letting the offense degrade.  that we know to be an organizational thing.  but it was sanchez who got worse and worse by himself.  such a lame article.

@rrjm  Devine was sensational in college but has been underwhelming in the CFL.  I'd say he's a mega longshot.

levi

@MarshRandy  I dont think it will be and by what Vick has said backs that up. He's here to push Geno. The only way Vick gets in is injury or Geno really stinks it up.

bob

@MarshRandy

Thats a great question..I thinking this could be a all season long question .

@levi Vick has a reputation of being a very good team mate. He puts others 1st .

People who harbor hate and don't forgive. are tormented by the devil.

I just don't see the fun in that. living in torment . God says give no place to the devil.

Totally agree. That game ruined the sanchize. Mark also started off real good against the steelers then he got popped in the face by foote and the game went down the tubes

You don't mess with dogs. They are better than most people. Almost anyone who has a dog knows this. He will be hearing about what he did, for the rest of his life. Can't blame them but, he paid his debt and must be allowed to live his life (and get us into the playoffs).

bob

@levi

Some have him projected as a 1st round pic played for Clemson with Watkins. big receiver.

MarshRandy

@levi that's what a backup QB should be, and unlike Simms he can actually win us games

@bob @bradysucks  That may be, but regardless of whether I harbor hate for Vick...it doesn't change the fact that he's just another turnover prone, bad QB.

@jake100  Joey you make Hunter's grade worse every time you mention it.  It was -20.3 and he actually graded out about neutral for the 10 weeks in the middle of the season.

By the way Hunter only gave up one pressure in that Ravens game, so it wasn't his fault.

Brendan
Brendan

@jake100  I know for a fact Bent has told you this before, but Hunter never had a grade of -38.7, ever. Stop lying to make your case sound better.

bklyndude

@jake100       Do you think they way they treated Mark Sanchez was a better way ?

I think Geno is going to embrace this competition and come out of it fine.  He's not made of glass.   Unless Vick blows him away, Geno's going to be the guy.   And that means he's going to have to continue to play like he did at the end of last season.   At least he knows he's capable of playing at that level.

I know every one is entitled to an opinion. I had dogs growing up and I feel no animosity. As for the playoffs, if Vick wins the starting job it will be a matter of time before he gets hurt.

levi

@bob I see he had a decent year. 800 some yards and 7 tds.

6'5" 200lbs  hes gonna wanna bulk up some.

@Wayno  "No offensive line"

Did they have a good OL in 2010? Because the only difference in the OL's from 2010-2012 was the RT.

levi

@MarshRandy Yup, its the way it should be. Gotta see if Geno is the future or not.

So it's a good thing he's the backup qb.

Vick had some crappy seasons but don't act like he never had an MVP type season (he did) under Morninweg

bob

@buckets @bob@bradysucks

Yes that's true Vick has a tendency to force throws. however I think if he learns to throw the ball away. Vick could be really good. Geno is smart that way..which is good for Vic to see in practice.

Well we'll find out this year won't we!!!!!

Again, it's a good thing he's the BACKUP quarterback.

If Sanchez can't take a hit then he doesn't deserve to start.

He is a stop gap. There was nobody out there that could be a better mentor to Geno and possibly win us a few games. Of course, we need a franchise guy but, we needed a veteran and Vick, for $5 mil is a good choice.

Me to just started watch some film this morning on him and got to thinking. Hoe he would fit and west coast offensive schemes

II guess a guy like T.O. Did well in the west coast offense . Of coarse they had Jerry rice.. Could be a young T.O

@Wayno  a good qb or even a professional one would rise to the occassion when the organization brings in TD jesus.

It's a pathetic excuse that he faltered because competition was brought in.  What it really says is that he was bad, weak, had no leadership skills, and was really immature.

those aren't things to blame the organization about it's things you ask your qb to live up to.  that's what being a qb is leadership, tenacity, fortitude, intelligence, and skill.  marky mark had none of that.

Bernard Mclaughlin
Bernard Mclaughlin

@Brendan @Wayno  It was apparent to me from the first game that Mark was a highly inaccurate QB who threw high an awful lot. Not sure if he lost mechanics when pressured but he repeatedly did it.  He also stared down intended receivers  more than any QB I can remember.

That being said , he had his moments when he threw well, with a great running game and good OL he was a good role playing QB, but his inability to secure the ball and inaccuracy led him to be a horrible turnover machine and no team an win consistently when your QB kills drives almost 2 times a game and gives the other team  the ball.  he tried his best, never knocked the fans or the team, he accepted blame  (rightly and wrongly) .

it will be interesting to see how he plays going forward. Would he have corrected those faults as a Jet? Will he correct them with someone else?   Time will tell , but the Jet Book is closed on mark Sanchez, On to Geno vs Vick.   They should make it a dual contest, winner gets to be starting QB AND wear #7, loser wears #6

DrJonathanReefer
DrJonathanReefer

Which does not mean the Sanchez played better. He had a 5 int game vs the bills in which we ran for over 300yd and we lost because of Sanchez.

He also had the #1 D and the best rushing O in football.

Brendan
Brendan

@Wayno  Wrong. The team (which was way, way, way better than this 2013 team) won ONE more game than the team Geno lead this year. Geno had a higher QB rating.

And at the time, Mark's rookie season was excusable because he was a rookie. It was when he was still playing like a rookie in his fourth season that it was time to cut bait.

Brendan
Brendan

@Wayno  Really? His rookie year he read defenses well?

levi
levi

@Wayno  If its all the Jets fault he will shine wherever he goes then.

Brendan
Brendan

@Wayno  The Jets did not set him up to fail. The insulated him with a run-focused attack that let him pick spots and gave him limited defenses to work with. He never was able to figure out how to read a defense. Eventually, your QB needs to become a reason you win games and Mark never became that player.

The Jets do have egg on their face with Sanchez, because they spent the #5 overall pick on a lemon. Not because they "set him up to fail."

bluefinn240
bluefinn240

He just couldn't read a defense you can make any excuse you want

Brendan
Brendan

@Wayno  You referenced 2012. Austin Howard was starting at RT that season, not Wayne Hunter.
