Rookie Dee Milliner suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN New York.
The extent of the injury is not known.
Milliner was listed as limited in the post-practice injury report.
Brian Bassett, TheJetsBlog.comIt’s been a tough start for the rookie, but playing cornerback as a rookie is generally one of the toughest tasks in the NFL. Milliner was regarded as a player with a similar style to Cleveland’s Joe Haden, but with a lower comparative grade. Milliner has the tools to be a productive and resourceful cornerback in the NFL, but what bothers us is when we listen to national commentators talk about him as if he is the Revis replacement. Milliner is not being asked to replace Revis, he was asked to start opposite Antonio Cromartie, the real Revis replacement and it hasn’t gone as hoped.
The Jets have fished Milliner out of the deep end and the plan was to re-introduce him in situations where he could be effective. Now that he’s got a hamstring injury, it’s hard to say how much time, if any, he’ll see this weekend.
